MEN'S BASKETBALL TRAVELS TO OGDEN FOR SATURDAY MATCHUP AT WEBER STATE

GAME PREVIEW

• Sacramento State (11-8, 4-2) will play its second road game in three days on Saturday at Weber State (9-10, 4-2). Tip-off at the Dee Events Center is set for 6 p.m. PST.
• The Hornets are coming off a 65-61 road loss at Idaho State on Thursday. Sacramento State trailed by 28 points (a season high for deficit) early in the second half before storming back to get within two points of the Bengal lead with under 10 seconds to play.
• Sacramento State has made a habit of playing close games in conference play. Four of the last five games have been decided by four points or less. And five straight have been decided by eight points or less.
• Sacramento State is 4-5 on the road, and each of the team's three Big Sky road games have been decided by four points or less (1-2).
• The Hornets currently sit in a three-way tie for second place in the Big Sky standings with Weber State and Idaho State. All three teams are 4-2, trailing Eastern Washington (7-0) and Montana State (5-2).
• The Hornets' 11 overall wins already matches the win total from all of last season (11-18).
• Despite Thursday's loss, Sacramento State's 4-2 conference record ties for the second best six-game Big Sky mark since joining the league in 1996-97.
• A big reason for Sacramento State's nice start has been its dominance at home (7-0).
• Since starting the season with a 2-7 record, Weber State has bounced back to go 7-3 over its last 10 games. That includes a 16-point home win over Portland State on Thursday.
• The Wildcats, who finished tied for third a year ago in the Big Sky, are 5-2 at home. They are 3-1 at home vs. the Big Sky, which includes a 67-57 loss to Idaho State on Jan. 7.
• Weber State has owned the series against Sacramento State, as the Wildcats are 46-10 against the Hornets in a series that dates back to 1969.
• Sacramento State is 2-25 when playing the Wildcats in Ogden, with the only two wins coming in 2006 and 2015. The Hornets have lost five straight in Ogden.
• Overall, Weber State has won five straight in the series, with the last Sacramento State win coming in the first round of the Big Sky Tournament (62-54) in Boise March 11, 2020.
• Weber State ranks last in the Big Sky, and 310th in the nation, in scoring at 67.0 ppg. The Wildcats have scored over 20 percent of their points from the free throw line.
• Weber State is fourth in the nation in free throw percentage at 81%, and 67th in the country with 14.4 makes from the line per game.
• Saturday will feature two of the top three teams in league play in rebounding differential. The Hornets are first at +8.0 per game, and Weber State is third at +4.2 per game.
