GAME PREVIEW
• Fresh off a 59-53 road victory at Fresno State, and winners of three straight, Sacramento State (6-5) will play its final non-conference road game on Wednesday at Cal State Fullerton (5-6). Tip-off at Titan Gym is set for 6 p.m.
• Wednesday's game is part of a doubleheader at Titan Gym that will see the Sacramento State women play Cal State Fullerton at 3 p.m.
• The Hornets have played five straight games that have come down to the final minutes, and each of those games have been decided by seven points or less.
• Sacramento State is currently riding its second three-game winning streak of the season after home wins over Denver (87-85 in OT) and Long Beach State (76-74), as well as Saturday's road win at Fresno State.
• Saturday's win snapped a 23-game losing streak to Fresno State, and was the Hornets' first win over the Bulldogs in 56 years.
• Sacramento State is 3-2 on an opponent's home floor. That includes three wins in the last four road games after opening the season with a loss at nationally ranked UCLA.
• The Hornets' three non-league road wins are tied for most in the program's Div. I era (1991-pres.). The 2005-06 team also accomplished the feat.
• The Hornets have just two non-league games left (Dec. 28 at home vs. Stanislaus State) before opening Big Sky Conference play at home on New Year's Eve vs. Portland State.
• Cal State Fullerton snapped a five-game losing streak with Monday's 87-35 home win over San Diego Christian. The Titans are 4-0 at home, and two of those wins have come against Div. I competition (Vermont and Pepperdine).
• In a series littered with close games, Sacramento State owns a 9-7 all-time record against Cal State Fullerton. Of the 16 games between the two teams, four have gone to overtime. The first meeting came in 1960.
• Each of the last three games between the Hornets and Titans have been decided by five points or less. That includes a 62-59 Hornet win at Fullerton on Dec. 7, 2019. That was the teams' last meeting.
• Sacramento State is 4-6 when playing the Titans in Fullerton. Each of the last five meetings in Fullerton have been decided by single digits, including a pair of OT outcomes.
• Former Hornet assistant coach Chris Walker is currently in his second year as an assistant at Fullerton. He spent 10 seasons with the Hornets (2011-21).
• Last season, the Titans went 21-11, won the Big West Tournament championship, and played Duke in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
