Box Score MISSOULA, Mont. — Montana quarterbacks combined to throw for 433 yards and six touchdowns and the 10th-ranked Grizzlies found the end zone 10 times in a 68-7 win over Sacramento State on Saturday in front of 25,351 fans at Washington-Grizzly Stadium.
The Griz scored 14 points in the first quarter and led 41-0 at halftime. Brady Gustafson completed 28-of-35 pass attempts for 246 yards and four scores before giving way in the second half.
Sacramento State also used multiple QBs in the game. Nate Ketteringham was 5-of-18 for 60 yards. He was replaced by Nolan Merker who finished the game completing 3-of-8 for 98 yards but was also intercepted once.
Demetrius Warren rushed for 70 yards to lead the Hornets and freshman Quincy Jountti scored on a 36-yard rush in the fourth quarter.
Manoah Pearson led the Hornet defense with 11 tackles and Malcolm Thomas contributed nine.
Sacramento State will next play at Northern Colorado on Saturday, Oct. 22.

SCORING SUMMARY
First Quarter
7:25 - Montana used a methodical 12-play, 80-yard drive to score the game's first points. The Grizzlies converted three third downs during the drive and did not have a play longer than seven yards until Justin Calhoun swept around the right edge for a 32-yard scoring play.
2:57 - Calhoun added his second touchdown of the first quarter with a 23-yard sprint up the middle of the field on 4th-and-2. The Hornet defense stopped John Nguyen short on his third down rush attempt but following a timeout, Montana head coach Bob Stitt elected to keep his offense on the field.
Second Quarter
13:52 - Montana needed just over a minute to score in the second quarter. Brady Gustafson found Keenan Curran in a one-on-one matchup in the end zone and was able to just get the ball over the Hornet defender for a 5-yard touchdown pass. The drive began with Gustafson hitting Colin Bingham for 17 and 20 yards on the first two plays.
8:35 - Jeremy Calhoun found the end zone for the third time in the first half when he took a short screen pass and travelled untouched into the end zone for a 10-yard score. The play capped an 8-play, 72-yard drive which saw UM convert a 3rd-and-15 with a run from John Nguyen.
8:19 - Montana forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and needed just one play to score. Brady Gustafson used two play-action fakes before lofting the ball to Colin Bingham for a 26-yard touchdown pass down the left sideline.
2:49 - The Grizzlies used nearly the same play call to score their sixth touchdown of the half. This time, Gustafson faked the hand off before hitting Josh Horner for a 9-yard touchdown. During the drive, Sacramento State was flagged four times for 55 yards.
Third Quarter
12:49 - Montana scored on its first play of the second half with an 81-yard rush up the middle of the field by John Nguyen.
9:15 - Reserve quarterback Chad Chalich come on to lead the Grizzlies on a 6-play. 69-yard scoring drive. Chalich connected with Caleb Lyons for a 4-yard touchdown pass to make the score 54-0.
2:26 - Nolan Merker led the Hornet offense to the UM 27-yard line but was intercepted by Justin Strong who went the distance for a 78-yard touchdown.
Fourth Quarter
4:46 - The Hornets posted their first points of the game on Quincy Jountti's first career touchdown. The freshman darted 36 yards for a score. The points came after Sacramento State forced a turnover when Lennard Cowans knocked the ball loose and Elijah Wallace recovered the fumble.
1:31 - Montana answered with a 60-yard screen pass from Chalich to Joey Counts for the game's final points. The running back caught the ball along the left sideline and was able to break free for the score.
