Lois Mattice

Mattice is a true Hornet, having received her BS and MS fromSacramento State and has served as a 25-year employee of theUniversity. She has worked for Sacramento State as a certifiedathletic trainer in the department of Intercollegiate Athleticssince 1988 and, in 2006, was appointed associate athletics directorfor internal affairs/senior woman administrator. Some of theresponsibilities of her current position include supervisingmen’s and women’s soccer, gymnastics, softball andsports medicine.  During her time on campus, she served theUniversity as a student, graduate student, staff, faculty andadministrator. She recently completed service (2008-2012) to theNCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects ofSports, whose goals are to research, educate and advise NCAA memberinstitutions on the best practices and safeguards that providestudent-athletes with a safe and healthy competitive experience.Mattice is also a licensed physical therapy assistant and 25-yearmember of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA). Shelived in Rabat, Morocco, for four years and has also calledMontana, Iowa, Kentucky and California home.
