Kieran Edwards completed his first season as Sacramento State assistant coach during the 2025 season.
Edwards, who has dedicated over a decade to rowing, assists with the coaching of both Hornet novice and varsity rowers. In 2025, he was part of a staff that led the team to golds in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four grand finals at the same WIRA Championship for the first time in program history (1995-pres.).
Edwards arrived at Sacramento State after spending two years (2021-23) as the men’s head coach and program coordinator of the Los Gatos Rowing Club. With Los Gatos, he directed a group of over 70 athletes in day-to-day practices and competitions while overseeing the entire program.
Other coaching stops included the men’s coach at Malvern Prep School in Pennsylvania (2018), the novice coach at Artemis Rowing Club in Oakland (2017) and the men’s coach for Capital Crew at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center (2016).
Edwards also served as the athlete representative for Vesper Boat club in Philadelphia for over a year (2019-20), and was the vice president of Sacramento State Men’s Rowing for two seasons in 2016 and 2017. He also served as the athlete safety representative for Humboldt Bay Rowing Association from 2014-15.
A graduate of Sacramento State in 2017 with a kinesiology degree, Edwards later added an associate degree in architecture from Orange Coast College in 2019.
