Enrique "Ricky" Becerra, MS, ATC

Enrique “Ricky” Becerra joined the Sacramento State sports medicine staff in July 2021 and has worked with the Hornet football and men’s tennis teams.

Prior to arriving to Sacramento State, Becerra served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the softball team Pacific, where he also earned his master of science in health, exercise, and sports science. Upon earning his BOC certification, Becerra severed two years as a seasonal athletic trainer for the San Francisco 49ers gaining experience at the professional level. After obtaining his A.A. in athletic training at Santa Rosa Junior College, Becerra transferred to San Jose State, where he would earn his bachelor of science in athletic training. While at SJSU, he gained experience primarily working with athletes from football, men’s basketball, women’s gymnastics, and men’s golf.

Becerra is a corrective exercise specialist, kinesiology taping practitioner, myofascial cupping practitioner, and certified in BLS for health care professionals.

A native of Tomales, Calif., Becerra resides in Davis, Calif., with his wife, Cynthia, and their dog, Layla.
