Anne Shaneen

Anne Shaneen completed her first season on the Hornets’ coaching staff in 2025, returning to her alma mater after spending four years with the Hornets as a student-athlete.

Shaneen (formerly Morrison) competed for Sacramento State Rowing from 2006-09, completing a successful career that saw her named first team all-WIRA in 2009, and second team all-WIRA in 2008. In 2006, she was named the team’s most valuable novice rower.

During the 2009 season, she helped the Hornets to a WIRA team title after sitting in the six seat with the Varsity Eight at the conference championship event.

Off the water, Shaneen was heavily involved. She was a member of the Div. I national student-athlete advisory committee, becoming just the second athlete in school history to represent Sacramento State on the national committee. She was also the chair of the Big Sky Conference student-athlete advisory committee, and chair of the Sacramento State student-athlete advisory committee.

Shaneen graduated from Sacramento State in 2009 with a journalism degree.
