Biography

SENIOR (2019): One of two graduating seniors from the 2019 team, Chernyetsky finished 2019 with a 3-18 overall record and a 2-8 mark against Big Sky competition...Started the season at the No. 1 singles position before seeing time at the Nos. 2, 3, and 4 positions...Picked up a singles win at each of the No.s 2, 3, and 4 positions...Her first win of the season came at home against Northern Colorado, in straight sets (6-3, 7-5) at the No. 2 spot...Won back-to-back matches with a win on April 2 vs. Montana, also in straight sets (6-1, 6-4)...Finished 3-11 in doubles play overall and 3-5 in league play...Won twice at the No. 2 doubles position and again at No. 3...Won with two different partners during the season: Jenna Dorian (2-1) and Frana Ugarkovic (1-6).

(JUNIOR (2018): Went 3-8 overall and 2-2 in Big Sky singles...Played at the No. 5 and 6 singles positions...two of her three singles wins came at the No. 5 position (2-4) while the other came at No. 6 (1-4)...All three of her wins were in straight sets...Won Big Sky matches at No. 5 singles at Weber State (6-4, 6-3 vs. Morgan Dickerson) and at No. 5 singles vs. Portland State (6-1, 6-0 vs. Ashley Knecht)...After starting the season 1-6 in singles competition, finished the year going 2-2...Went 5-13 overall and 3-7 in Big Sky doubles...Played all 18 of her doubles matches at No. 1...Played with three different doubles partners during the season: Ana Loaiza Esquivias (2-4 overall, 2-1 conference), Maria Gonzalez (2-7, 0-5), and Jenna Dorian (1-2, 1-1)...Her 18 doubles matches were most on the team while her five doubles wins were second most...Received the innagural Iron Hornet Award (team award).  

SOPHOMORE (2017): Went 4-18 overall and 3-6 in Big Sky singles...Played at No. 3, 4, 5, and 6...Had two wins at No. 5...Won three matches in straight sets...Won Big Sky matches at No. 4 singles against Southern Utah, at No. 5 against Northern Colorado, and at No. 6 against North Dakota...Pushed her opponent to a third set at No. 3 against Weber State but the match went unfinished...Won her first collegiate spring match, beating San Francisco's Amber Del Rosario 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5...Went 9-16 overall and 5-6 in Big Sky doubles...Played at No. 2 and 3 doubles, going 8-8 at No. 3...Was 8-8 overall and 5-5 in the Big Sky playing with sophomore Sofia Wicker at No. 3...Had a four-match winning streak...Tied for second on the team with five Big Sky doubles wins...Played nine doubles matches with senior Andie Mouzes with the pair winning 6-4 at No. 2 against San Francisco...Had three fall singles wins, including two victories at the ITA Northwest Regional...Won a fall doubles match with both Mouzes and Wicker. 

FRESHMAN (2016): Redshirt Season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played two seasons at No. 1 singles for coach Cami Wolthuis at El Camino HS...Named team MVP as a freshman and an all-Capital Athletic League selection...Reached the semifinals and took third place in the CIF Sac-Joaquin sectional tournament...Also played at Rio Del Oro Racquet Club since 2008.

PERSONAL: Mother is Svetlana Chernyetsky...Plans to go into a doctorate program for physical therapy after earning her bachelor's degree...Majoring in kinesiology.
