Biography

As a junior (2026)
• A first team all-WCC selection
• Named the Hornets’ most outstanding rower
• Was also named WCC preseason all-conference
• Stroked the varsity eight in all 12 spring races
• Has competed with the varsity eight in every race since stepping on campus - 33 straight races with the top boat
• Part of a Hornet V8 that won WCC Crew of the Week honors three times
• Stroked the varsity eight to a Cal Cup gold medal at the San Diego Crew Classic - just the second Cal Cup gold in program history
• The Hornets’ varsity eight posted two wins over Gonzaga and Wisconsin, and a win over Kansas State
• A WCC all-academic selection
• A CRCA Scholar-Athlete selection
• Invited to compete for the World University Championship (WUC) Team in the summer of 2026
• Posted a 6:59.8 erg time during the spring

As a sophomore (2025)
• Named first team all-West Coast Conference
• Named the Hornets’ most improved rower
• Competed with the varsity eight in every spring race for the second straight year
• After sitting at six in the season opener, Godwin stroked the varsity eight each of the boat’s final nine races
• Stroked the V8 to a gold medal at the WIRA Championship, a first place finish at the Sacramento State Invitational, and a win over Kansas State at the Hornet Invite
• A CRCA Scholar-Athlete selection
• A WCC all-academic selection

As a freshman (2024)
• Named the Hornets’ Newcomer of the Year after competing with the varsity eight in all 11 spring races as a freshman
• Lone freshman to compete with the varsity eight during the season
• Sat in the three seat in all 11 races with the boat
• Helped the boat to a bronze medal at both the American and WIRA Championships
• Also helped the varsity eight to a five-second win over Kansas State at the Hornet Invitational
• American Athletic Conference all-academic selection
