Prior to Sacramento State: Competed at Kokokahi Gymnastics in Kaneohe, Hawaii...was a two-time national qualifier...was the Level 10 regional champion on beam in 2007 and 2008...qualified for the regional championship for five-straight years (2004-09).

Personal: Majoring in health science...graduated from Castle HS in 2009...parents are Jeffrey and Denise Akamine.
