2016 Beach Season
One of six Hornets to play in all 22 matches…an honorable mention all-Big West Conference selection…played each match at No. 1 with teammate Madeline Cannon…the pair got better as the season progressed, winning four of their last seven matches…that included victories at No. 1 in both of their Big West Championship contests…during the postseason event, Lovett/Cannon beat doubles teams from CSUN (21-15, 22-24, 15-13) and Cal Poly (23-21, 21-16)…the duo also had a pair of victories against nationally ranked Cal, as well as wins over Boise State and San Jose State…of Lovett/Cannon’s seven wins during the year, four came in straight sets…Lovett was also named all-league during the indoor season as she was selected second team all-Big Sky Conference.
2015 Indoor Season
Played in all 33 matches, including 28 starts at outside hitter…played all 122 sets during the season…a second team all-Big Sky Conference selection after finishing the season with averages of 3.60 kills, 0.82 digs, 0.37 blocks, 0.30 aces and 4.12 points per set…also hit .231…the kills and hitting percentage were both career highs…ranked among the Big Sky’s top eight players in kills per set (6th), points per set (6th) and aces per set (8th)…bumped her numbers during conference play to 3.71 kills and 4.19 points per set (both marks rank sixth in the league) with a .245 hitting percentage…recorded double figures in kills in all but four matches…that included a streak of 18 consecutive matches with double digits in kills (Sept. 5-Oct. 17)…hit at least .300 in a match 14 times, an impressive figure for an outside hitter…had a season-high 21 kills at Northern Arizona…had a career-best 439 kills…became the 20th player in program history to surpass the 1,000 career kills plateau, and ranks 14th in school history with 1,216 kills…a two-time all-tournament selection and two-time Sacramento State Student-Athlete of the Week…posted at least 347 kills each of her final three seasons with the program…has career averages of 3.06 kills, 0.95 digs and 3.51 points per set…accumulated 1,398.5 total points.
2015 Beach Season
Appeared in 13 matches during the sand season, and each of those came at the No. 1 position in the lineup with Kayla Beal…posted a 3-10 record with Beal, which included winning their final two matches of the season…both of those victories provided the match-clinching points in 3-2 wins over Boise State and Cal Poly…in the victory over Boise State, Lovett and Beal won via 14-21, 21-17, 15-12 score…the win against Cal Poly came via 21-19, 21-12 score.
2014 Indoor Season
Played in 29 matches, including 26 starts at outside hitter…missed two matches with an ankle injury (UC Davis and George Washington)…averaged 3.15 kills, 0.99 digs, 0.57 blocks and 3.69 points per set…among Big Sky leaders (all matches), she ranked seventh in both kills and points per set…in conference play, she ranked seventh in kills (3.23 per set) and ninth in points (3.81 per set)…tallied double figures in kills a team-high 20 times…had double-doubles (kills and digs) against both Southern Utah and Eastern Washington…had double digits in kills in each of her final six, and 11 of the final 14 matches of the season…among team leaders, Lovett was first in kills (347), attacks (1,034) and points (406.0), and third in aces (25)…set single match career bests in kills (27 at Southern Utah), digs (15 vs. UNCG), blocks (6 at Weber State) and points (31.5 at Southern Utah)…in that road match at Southern Utah, she posted 27 kills, two aces, 12 digs and five blocks…had 22 kills vs. San Jose State, and 18 against both Weber State (road) and Southern Utah (home)… had 15 kills, three aces, five digs, five blocks and a .394 hitting percentage against Bakersfield…has 777 career kills, and is just 223 shy of joining the 1,000 kills club.
2014 Beach Season
Went 1-5 during the first half of the season with Lauren Aikels at No. 2, before finishing the year by going 3-3 with Madeline Cannon at No. 2…Lovett and Cannon won three of their last five matches of the season, including victories over Cal Poly, Stanford and San Jose State…with the scored tied at 2-2 against Cal Poly, Lovett and Cannon provided the match clincher with a 21-17, 21-19 victory…with Aikels, she beat a doubles team from San Francisco.
2013 Indoor Season
Started all but one match at outside hitter…did not play at Idaho State because of injury…led the Hornets in kills (361), kills per set (3.25), attempts (936), points (407.5), and points per set (3.67)…among Big Sky Conference leaders, she ranked fifth in kills per set, and seventh in points per set…also averaged 0.27 aces, 1.29 digs and 0.25 blocks to go with a .228 hitting percentage…posted double digits in kills in a team-high 22 matches…that included a career-high 22 kills in the season finale at Montana, the most kills by a Hornet all season…had a streak of 10 consecutive matches with at least 11 kills from Sept. 27-Oct. 31…had six aces in a home win over Southern Utah, tied for the third best mark in Sacramento State single-season history…had a pair of double-doubles, including 15 kills and 11 digs vs. Bucknell, and 14 kills and 12 digs at Eastern Washington…led or tied for the team lead in kills in 14 of the 30 matches in which she appeared…named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week on Sept. 2…recorded the Hornets’ top three single-match kill totals during the year (22 at Montana, 21 at La Salle, 20 vs. Northern Arizona)…dramatically improved her numbers from her freshman to sophomore season, including averaging 2.00 kills more per set, and increasing her hitting percentage by 169 percentage points.
2013 Beach Season
Played in all eight matches during the program’s inaugural sand season with partner Lauren Aikels…the tandem played at the No. 4 spot in the team’s lineup all year, and finished with a 3-5 record…the three victories for Lovett/Aikels came against Cal, Pacific and San Francisco…the pair won two of their final three matches of the season.
2012 Indoor Season
Appeared in 23 matches, including four starts and 55 sets played in her first season with the Hornets…averaged 1.25 kills, 0.51 digs, 0.27 blocks and 1.50 points per set…also had four aces…posted double figures in kills three times during a six-match span from Sept. 20-Oct. 6…that included a season-high 12 kills at home against both Idaho State and Weber State, and 11 kills at Northern Arizona…narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills and nine digs at North Dakota…in the match at Northern Arizona, she also had an ace, seven digs, a block and a .250 hitting percentage (11-4-28)…season-high four blocks came against both Weber State and Santa Clara…two of those blocks against Santa Clara were solo stuffs.
High School
A 2012 graduate of Durango High School in Durango, Colo…a four-year starting varsity outside hitter for the Demons…helped lead the team to back-to-back state tournament appearances, regionals championships, district crowns and Southwestern League titles in 2010 and 2011…as a senior, she was named first team all-state and the unanimous choice as the Southwestern League MVP after averaging 4.2 kills, 2.8 digs and 0.5 aces per set…led the Demons in total kills (364) and aces (40) while ranking second in digs (244)…as a junior, Lovett was named the Southwestern League’s co-MVP, honorable mention all-state, first team all-league and academic all-state after averaging 3.9 kills, 2.8 digs and 0.4 aces per set…during her four seasons, the Demons combined for a 67-31 overall record and a 31-9 league mark…was a three-time first team all-league selection (2009-11).
Personal
Parents are Robert and Valerie Lovett…a communication studies major…played five years for the Four Corners Volleyball Club of Durango…helped the team to a Fiesta Classic championship in 2009.
