2021 Women's Beach Volleyball
Biography
2021 Beach Season
Played in all nine matches at either No. 3 or 4 in the team’s lineup…played eight times in the No. 3 spot…of those nine matches, eight were played with Sarah Falk as her doubles partner…the tandem of Taynton/Falk had a 21-19, 21-19 victory over a pair from UC Davis on April 24…Taynton’s lone match at No. 4 in the lineup came with Claudia Wilson…a Big West all-academic selection.
2020 Beach Season
Played all six matches during a shortened spring season…played at No. 5 in the team’s lineup in each of those matchups…played the first match of the year with Sarah Falk, before spending the final five with Kayla Subbert…won a pair of matches with Subbert, including a straight-set victory (21-17, 21-14) at Pacific, and a three-set win against San Jose State (18-21, 21-9, 15-11)…a Big West all-academic selection.
2019 Beach Season
Played in four matches after transferring from Seattle U…three of those matches came against nationally ranked opposition…played twice at No. 3 vs. #8 Cal Poly and CSU Bakersfield, once at No. 4 vs. #9 Long Beach State, and once at No. 5 vs. #6 Hawai’i.
Prior to Sacramento State
Played two years of indoor volleyball at Seattle of the Western Athletic Conference (2017-18)…during those two seasons, she played in 52 matches and 192 sets, including 16 starts at defensive specialist…averaged 1.72 digs per set…as a sophomore this past fall (2018), she appeared in all 30 matches and played in 111 of a possible 112 sets, averaging 1.86 digs…played in matches against Sacramento State in both 2017 and 2018…finished with eight digs in both of those matches…her two-year totals at Seattle were 331 digs, 46 assists and 35 aces.
High School
A 2017 graduate of Vacaville High School…as a senior, she was named first team all-Monticello Empire League and helped Vacaville HS to a league championship…during her final two seasons with the Bulldogs, she played in 116 sets and had 385 digs, good for an average of 3.32 digs per set.
Personal
A political science major…in seven combined seasons playing for Five Starz Volleyball Club (six years) and Northern California Volleyball Club (one year), Taynton’s teams qualified five times for the USVA Junior Nationals.
