Biography

2022 Beach Season
Played in all 23 matches during the season…played 10 matches at No. 1, 11 matches at No. 2, and twice at No. 3…all but one of those matches came with teammate Kalani Hayes…the other came with Ashtin Olin…went 3-0 vs. duos from San Francisco.

2021 Beach Season
Played in all nine matches at the No. 1 spot in the Hornets’ lineup with Ashtin Olin…posted a 21-18, 21-16 victory over a tandem from Pacific during the second match of the season.

2020 Beach Season
Played all six matches during a shortened spring season…each of those matches came at No. 2 in the team’s lineup…played three matches with both McKenna Smith and Paige Swinney…won a matchup at No. 2 with Swinney against a duo from San Francisco (21-18, 21-17).

2019 Beach Season
One of just four Hornets to play in all 21 matches…played at four different spots in the team’s lineup - twice at No. 1, four times at No. 2, 12 times at No. 3 and three times at No. 4…went 6-6 at No. 3, winning three of those matches with Paige Swinney, and three with McKenna Smith…defeated opponents from San Francisco, San Jose State (twice), Boise State (twice) and Pacific…was 4-3 in matches that lasted three sets.

2018 Beach Season
Played in 15 of the team’s 21 matches as a true freshman…appeared in two of the team’s first four matches of the season with Brigitte Murdock, before playing the final 13 matches of the year with Skyler Takeda…finished the season with a 6-9 record, including a 6-5 record at No. 4 in the team’s lineup…Hayden/Takeda played at No. 4 in the team’s lineup during both matches of the Big West Tournament, including a 15-21, 21-17, 15-13 victory against CSU Bakersfield…the pair won three straight from April 7-11…also beat teams from Boise State and CSUN.

High School

A local product, Hayden was a 2017 graduate of Whitney High School in Rocklin, Calif…was the starting outside hitter for the varsity team all four years…a four-time first team all-Capital Valley Conference selection and two-time league MVP…as a senior, she was named first team all-state, league MVP, first team all-league and was selected to compete in the Optimist All-Star game after leading Whitney to the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section championship…that team reached the second round of the state tournament and finished the year with a 30-11 overall record and the league title with a 13-1 mark…had 609 kills as a senior, and was one of just six players from the entire state of California to record 600-plus kills…in her four seasons, Hayden racked up 1,682 kills, and had career averages of 4.0 kills and 2.6 digs per set to go along with a .289 hitting percentage…averaged at least 4.0 kills per set each of her final three years, including a career-best total of 4.9 as a senior…also averaged 3.7 digs per set with a .315 hitting percentage as a senior…led the Capital Valley Conference in kills as a senior and as a sophomore…named a Top 20 Player to Watch in NorCal High Schools by Sports Stars Magazine…as a junior, she averaged 4.4 kills and 4.0 digs per set while hitting .312

Personal
Parents are Quentin and Jeanna Hayden…a criminal justice major who graduated from Sacramento State in the spring of 2022…played five years of club volleyball for the highly competitive Northern California Volleyball Club.
