Biography
2023 Beach Season
Played in all 23 matches at the No. 5 spot in the team’s lineup…that included 20 matches (eight wins) with Hailey Plugge…also played three times with Kate Doorn…the eight victories with Plugge are tied for the fourth most single-season wins by a doubles team in Sacramento State history…Cordano and Plugge defeated a duo from CSUN in three sets at the Big West Tournament…a Big West all-academic selection for the third straight season.
2022 Beach Season
Played in 21 of the team’s 23 beach matches…that included 16 matches at No. 4, and five at No. 5…won four matches with teammate Karlee Soderberg (three at No. 4, one at No. 5)…that included a three-match winning streak against San Francisco, Saint Mary’s and Oregon from March 5-18…a Big West all-academic selection for the second straight season.
2021 Beach Season
Played in five of the Hornets’ nine beach matches…that includes a pair of matchups at No. 4, and three at No. 5…of her five matches, two went to three sets, and another was decided by a 22-20, 21-16 outcome…played four times with Karlee Soderberg, and once with Paige Calvin…a Big West all-academic selection.
2020 Beach Season
Played in the preseason exhibition pairs tournament…was not in the lineup for any of the six regular season matches, but did play in some exhibition matches.
High School
A 2019 graduate of Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento…played four years of volleyball and two seasons of lacrosse for the Falcons…in volleyball, she played her final three seasons on the varsity team…helped Christian Brothers to a Capital Athletic League championship each of her three years with the varsity team…was a first team all-league selection and the team captain during her final two seasons…named the league’s MVP as a junior…selected to play in the 2018 All-Star Optimist game after averaging 4.5 digs per set to go with 478 digs and 46 aces as a senior…helped the team to a Sac-Joaquin Section championship in 2016, and semifinal appearances in 2017 and 2018…the team reached the state championship in all three of those seasons, including a regional semifinal appearance in 2018…a four-year Scholar-Athlete Award winner and four-year member of the National Honor Society.
Personal
Daughter of James and Nancy Cordano…a business major…played six years for Five Starz Volleyball Club in Davis, Calif…that included playing for former Sacramento State head coach Debby Colberg…on that team, she played with Hornet teammate Tiyanane Kamba-Griffin.
