2013 Season: Finished fourth in the decathlon at the Big Sky Championships with a season high 6,602 points…also qualified for the Big Sky meet in the high jump and long jump…set PRs in the high jump and javelin during the year…cleared 6-10.25 at the Sacramento State Open…threw 187-02 at the Causeway Classic…indoors, he qualified for the Big Sky Championships in the high jump and long jump…jumped 6-09.00 at the Jacksons Invitational which ranks fourth in school history.
2012 Season: Redshirted during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
2011 Season: Was the Big Sky champion in the decathlon with 7,378 yards…that point total ranks second in school history…also qualified for the Big Sky meet in the long jump…scored 7,292 points to win the decathlon at the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge…indoors, he finished second in the heptathlon with a school record 5,375 points…placed fourth in the high jump after clearing a personal best 6-06.75 which ties him for fifth in school history.
2010 Season: Earned all-Big Sky honors in the decathlon with a third-place finish…also qualified for the Big Sky Outdoor Championships in the 110-hurdles and long jump…scored 6,888 points at the RJ/JJK Multi to set a then-career high and rank third in school history at the time…other season bests included 14.84 in the 110-hurdles, 6-04.00 in the high jump and 23-06.75 in the long jump…indoors, he set the school record in the heptathlon with 5,130 points at the New Mexico Classic…also qualified for the Big Sky Championships in the long jump…cleared 6-03.50 in the high jump for the sixth best indoor mark in school history.
2009 Season: Competed in 11 events as a true freshman outdoors…qualified for the Big Sky Championships in the 110-hurdles and long jump…competed in one decathlon at the UC Multi…scored 6,298 points…indoors, moved into third place in school history with a heptathlon score of 4,734 at the Cougar Indoor.
High School: Graduated from St. Joseph HS in Santa Maria, Calif…was the Southern Section high jump champion in 2006…was the Los Padres League champion in the 110-hurdles and long jump in 2008…won the LPL title in the high jump in 2006 and the 110-hurdles in 2007…named first team all-league, all-area and all-country in 2007 and 2008…helped lead the team to two Los Padres League track titles…scored 5,660 at the Asics Decathlon for his career high…set the school record in the long jump at 22-06.50…also played four years of varsity basketball where he was twice named all-area, all-county and all-league…led the basketball team to three league championships.
Personal: Majoring in business administration…parents are Barry and Cynthia Schur…his father was the 1972 AAU high jump champion and finished 10th in the decathlon at the 1971 NCAA Championships while competing for Kansas.
