Laura Harmon

Laura Harmon was hired as the cross country and distance coach for Sacramento Statein July of 2015.

Harmon came to the Hornets from TCU where she served as the Horned Frogs' head cross country coach in 2014 and was an assistant distance coach for the 2015 track season. In her capacity, she coached several athletes to personal bests and led the distance medley relay team to a school record. Harmon also oversaw the Horned Frogs' social media efforts, planned team travel and recruited nationally and internationally.

Prior to joining the staff at TCU, Harmon was an assistant at Oregon State from 2011-14. In her two full-time season, OSU student-athletes produced 11 marks which cracked the school top 10 in the 1,500, 3K, 5K and 10K.

Harmon was a distance and cross country standout at Oregon where she earned All-America honors in cross country in 2004. That year, she ran 21:08 on the 6K in her final collegiate cross country event. Harmon also was an NCAA qualifier in the 5K at the 2004 outdoor championships and the 2005 indoor championships.

Following her collegiate career, Harmon began coaching at Jesuit HS in Portland, Ore., where she led her alma mater to four state cross country championships and the school's first girl's track state title in 2008. She also had student-athletes win eight Metro League individual titles and had her cross country team qualify for three Nike Cross Country National appearances.
