Jonathan Semillo joined the Sacramento State sports medicine staff in January 2026 as an assistant athletic trainer, primarily working with the Combat U teams and club sports.
Jonathan, originally from Stockton, Calif., graduated from California State University, Monterey Bay in 2023 with a bachelor of science in kinesiology and a minor in business administration. He then received a master of science in athletic training from Northern Arizona in 2025.
While at NAU, Jon completed clinical rotations with the men's and women's cross country, track, and field teams as well as the football program. Jon then completed a year-long rotation at Southern Oregon, primarily working with the football, men's and women's basketball, and track and field programs. Additionally, in his first professional year, he worked full-time at SOU with the men's and women's soccer teams as well as the softball team.
In his free time, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his wife, golfing, running, and trying new coffee shops.
