Biography

2025 Season
• Played in 32 games (18 starts) in a season in which she battled injuries all year
• Of her 18 starts, 15 came at shortstop, two at second base and one at designated player
• Hit .385 (20-for-52) with 21 runs, four RBIs, a .407 on-base percentage and 20 stolen bases
• Was 20-for-21 in stolen base opportunities, tying the school record for most steals in a season
• Made 12 pinch running appearances, and scored six times while going 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts
• Returned to a starting role (after injury) for the Big Sky Tournament where she went 4-for-7 (.571) with three runs, two RBIs and four stolen bases
• In a Big Sky Tourney win vs. Portland State, she was 2-for-3 with three runs, three stolen bases and two RBIs
• Raised her batting average all four seasons from .273 as a freshman, .329 as a sophomore, .351 as a junior, and .385 as a senior
• Finished career with a .335 batting average, the ninth best mark in the program’s Div. I era (1990-pres.)
• Ludwig’s 53 stolen bases are the most in program history, surpassing the previous mark of 43, set by Haley Hanson
• A Big Sky all-academic selection for the fourth straight year

2024 Season
• A second team all-Big Sky Conference selection for the second straight season
• One of two Hornets to start all 48 games (each of those starts at shortstop)
• Hit .351 (52-for-148) with 26 runs, a .385 on-base percentage and 16 stolen bases
• Went 16-for-21 in stolen base attempts, and the 16 bags were fourth most in the Big Sky
• Committed just seven errors all season, good for a remarkable fielding percentage for a shortstop (.955)
• Had three hitting streaks of at least six games long
• Went 4-for-4 in a Big Sky Tournament win vs. Montana, tying the program record for most in hits in a game
• Hit .487 (7-for-15) during the Big Sky Tournament with five runs scored
• Hit .405 (15-for-37) with runners in scoring position, and her 14 multiple-hit games were second most on the team
• Hitting .328 (118-for-360)  for her career with 33 stolen bases and a .954 fielding percentage
• Big Sky all-academic selection for the third straight year

2023 Season
• A second team all-Big Sky Conference selection
• One of three Hornets to start all 47 games
• Second among Hornet regulars with a .329 batting average (48-for-146)
• Also had a .380 on-base percentage and led the team with eight stolen bases
• Scored 30 runs (second on the Hornets) with 11 walks and 12 RBIs
• Hit first or second in the Hornet lineup in all but five games
• Had both a nine-game hitting streak during the season, and a seven-game streak
• Hit .424 (14-for-33) with runners in scoring position
• Her 30 runs scored were eighth most in the Big Sky
• Had a streak of 14 straight games reaching base safely, longest by a Hornet during the season
• Led the team with 13 multiple-hit games, including four games with three hits
• A Big Sky all-academic selection for the second straight season

2022 Season
• Did not play full time until April because of injury
• Played in 45 games, including 26 starts
• An honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference selection as a true freshman
• Started each of the final 17 games of the season
• Hit .273 overall, but hit a team-high .400 in Big Sky play
• In 16 conference games (11 starts), Ludwig was 12-for-30 with seven runs and 5-for-5 in stolen base opportunities
• Also had a .455 on-base percentage in league play
• During a three-game stretch vs. Stanford and Northern Colorado (April 15-19), she was 7-for-11
• Hit .462 (6-for-13) with runners in scoring position
• An NFCA Scholar-Athlete and Big Sky Conference all-academic selection

High School

• A 2021 graduate of James C. Enochs High School in Modesto, Calif
• Played three years of varsity softball
• The pandemic affected both her junior and senior seasons
• The Eagles went 9-1 during her shortened senior season, and had a 7-0 mark in 2020 before that season was shut down
• In nine games as a senior, she hit .611 (22-for-36) with a .659 on-base percentage and was a perfect 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts
• Helped the Eagles to a Central California Athletic League (CCAL) championship during her sophomore season (2019)
• That year, she was the team’s starting shortstop and named first team all-CCAL
• Also the league’s defensive player of the year
• Hit .407 with eight stolen bases and a .948 ops
• Prior to her junior season being shut down, Ludwig was hitting .625 with a .667 on-base percentage
• During her three seasons with the varsity team, the Eagles were a combined 35-6-1 overall and 24-3 in league play
• Ran varsity track in 2018 where she competed in the 100, 200, 4x100 and 4x400
• A three-time all-academic award recipient and member of the Honor Roll every year of high school

Personal
• Parents are Tom and Cindy
• A communication sciences and disorders major who graduated in the spring of 2025
• Played travel ball for the NorCal Firecrackers where she helped the team to Premier PDF Nationals berths in 2016, 2018 and 2019
