Amanda Sheppard will begin her first season at Sacramento State during the 2015-16 academic year. Sheppard obtained both her master's and bachelor's degrees (kinesiology) from Northern Illinois, including a master's emphasis in exercise physiology and fitness leadership.

She was a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at Northern Illinois from 2013-15 where she conducted the daily oversight and management of various Olympic sports programs.

A four-year starter for the softball team at Northern Illinois (2010-13), Sheppard started all 111 of the Huskies' games during her final two seasons with the program, and hit .297 during her senior year.
