2012 Season
A first team all-PCSC Coastal Division selection…was one of three Hornets to start all 46 games, and finished the year batting .336 with 32 runs scored, six doubles, eight home runs, 27 RBIs, a .545 slugging percentage and a .389 on-base percentage…received all-league accolades (second team in 2010 and 2011, honorable mention in 2009) four straight seasons…was successful in eight of her nine stolen base attempts…the 32 runs scored were the sixth best mark in the Coastal Division, and her eight home runs matched a team high…named PCSC Coastal Division Player of the Week on March 5…finished the season on an eight-game hitting streak, batting .423 with three home runs and nine RBIs over that stretch…hit a team-high .393 against conference opposition, the sixth best mark in the Coastal Division…hit .359 with runners on base…served as a team co-captain…had a .991 fielding percentage at first base, and finished her career with a .992 fielding percentage…started 164 consecutive games dating back to her freshman season…among Sacramento State Div. I-era career leaders (1990-pres.), she ranks high in numerous categories including first in putouts (1,265), second in home runs (19), third in runs scored (115), fourth in total bases (264), fifth in slugging percentage (.470) and doubles (34), sixth in RBIs (83), tied for sixth in walks (53), seventh in on-base percentage (.379), ninth in stolen bases (18), 10th in hits (171) and 11th in batting average (.304)…named to the PCSC’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the fourth straight year…also selected as the PCSC's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for her academic and athletic accomplishments as well as community service involvement…recipient of the NFCA Scholar-Athlete Award from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for the fourth straight year as well.
2011 Season
A second team all-PCSC Coastal Division selection after starting all 44 games at first base…was the only Hornet to start every game of the season…batted .290 while leading the team in runs (24), doubles (10) and on-base percentage (.388)…was a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts and had a team-high .989 fielding percentage, committing just four errors in 360 total chances…also had 19 RBIs, 17 walks and six sacrifices…hit .298 with runners on base and .293 with runners in scoring position…in nine opportunities with a runner at third base and less than two outs, she successfully drove in the run six times…hit .316 against conference competition and had a monster final weekend of the season against CSU Bakersfield where she batted .727 (8-for-11) with four runs, two doubles, a home run and nine RBIs over four games…had a career-high five RBIs in the Hornets’ win over CSU Bakersfield on May 8…reached base safely via hit or walk in all but seven games…recipient of the NFCA Scholar-Athlete Award from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for the third straight year…the award is given to student-athletes that record a 3.5 gpa or better during the academic year…also named to the PCSC’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the third straight season.
2010 Season
A second team all-PCSC Coastal Division selection…one of three Hornets to start all 54 games (51 starts at first base, three at designated player)…hit .314 (55-175) with 36 runs, 13 doubles, six home runs, 23 RBIs, 18 walks, a .395 on-base percentage and four stolen bases…led the Hornets in at-bats, runs and walks…the 36 runs are tied for the seventh best mark in Hornet Div. I single-season history (1990-pres.) and the 13 doubles are tied for sixth best mark…hit .340 (16-47) with two outs, and 14 of her 23 RBIs came with two outs…her 15 multiple-hit games were the second most on the team, and six multiple-RBI games were the fourth most…hit safely in 37 games…was 2-for-4 with a walk, three runs, a double, home run and a season-high four RBIs in a win against Santa Clara on April 29…recorded a .990 fielding percentage…committed four errors all season, and just two over the final 48 games of the year…made three appearances at pitcher (two starts), tossing 11.0 innings…recipient of the NFCA Scholar-Athlete Award from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for the second straight year…also named to the PCSC’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the second straight season.
2009 Season
Appeared in 40 games (all starts)…started 33 games at first base, three at pitcher, three at designated player and once in left field…missed 11 games with a hamstring injury…an honorable mention all-PCSC selection after completing her freshman season with a .304 batting average against conference competition…batted .265 overall…was the only Hornet to go the entire season without committing an error (no errors in 226 total chances)…had 23 runs, five doubles, four home runs, 14 RBIs, 11 walks and a .331 on-base percentage…struck out just once every 10.3 at-bats…batted .300 with runners on base and .290 with runners in scoring position…had nine multiple-hit games and four multiple-RBI games…also had four appearances (three starts) at pitcher towards the beginning of the season…recipient of the NFCA Scholar-Athlete Award from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA)…also named to the PCSC’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
High School
A 2008 graduate of Woodland High School…played four years of volleyball, basketball and softball…in softball, she played on the varsity team all four years, and was a four-time first team all Tri-County Conference selection, and two-time league offensive MVP…as a senior, she led the Wolves to their first-ever Sac-Joaquin Section Division III championship, and a co-league championship…also in 2008, she was named second team all-state, first team all-metro and league offensive MVP after batting .519 with 26 runs, five home runs, seven doubles, three triples and 50 RBIs in 27 games…as a pitcher, she went 14-6 with a 0.79 ERA with 189 strikeouts and just 20 walks in 124.2 innings…one of two players to receive the Robert K. Puglia Award, given to high school players in the Sacramento region who best exemplify the characteristics of a winner…as a junior, she hit .598 with nine home runs, a 1.061 slugging percentage and 16 stolen bases…on the mound, she finished 15-5 with a 0.88 ERA with 142 strikeouts and 13 walks in 120.0 innings…was also a first team all-league performer in both volleyball and basketball during her high school career…member of the National Honor Society from 2006-08, and member of the Principal’s Honor Roll throughout high school.
Personal
Parents are Robert and Gaye Nakken…a psychology major who graduated in the spring of 2012…played club softball for both the California Flames and San Jose Sting…during the summer of 2008, she played for the ASA Gold 18-under San Jose Sting squad that finished tied for 17th at nationals…played on that team with Sacramento State teammates Marissa Navarro and Kelly Shepard.
