Biography

2022 Season
An honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference selection…a team captain…played in 49 games, including 48 starts at first base…hit .288 (42-for-146) with six doubles, a triple, three homers and 28 RBIs…also had a .360 on-base percentage…in 18 Big Sky games, she had 11 RBIs, second most on the team…went the final 32 games of the season without committing an error…hit .420 (21-for-50) with runners in scoring position, and 13 of her RBIs came with two outs…had six multiple-RBI games…hit grand slams vs. both Saint Mary’s and Idaho State…finished four-year career with a .265 batting average to go with 13 home runs and 70 RBIs…the 13 homers are tied for 11th most in program history…also finished with a .987 career fielding percentage…a Big Sky all-academic selection for the third straight season.

2021 Season
A second team all-Big Sky Conference selection…finished the season second on the team with a .301 batting average (34-for-113)…had 14 extra base hits (7 homers, 4 triples, 3 doubles), 16 RBIs, a .584 slugging percentage, .344 on-base percentage and .928 ops…struck out just once every 8.7 at-bats…led the Hornets with a .373 batting average vs. Big Sky opposition, including eight runs, two doubles, two triples, six homers and 10 RBIs…also in league play, she ranked fourth in the Big Sky in home runs, fifth in total bases (46) and sixth in slugging percentage (.780)…became the first player in school history to homer three times in the same game when she accomplished the feat on April 3 at Montana…has seven multiple-hit games in league play, including the 4-for-4 effort with three homers at Montana…her seven-game hitting streak (April 2-23) was the longest by a Hornet during the season…had a three-run homer in the Hornets’ first Big Sky Tournament game vs. Montana…a Big Sky all-academic selection.

2020 Season
Played in 25 games in a shortened season, including 24 starts…22 of those starts came at first base, and two at designated player…hit .250 (19-for-76) with eight runs, four doubles, a triple, three home runs and 18 RBIs…the RBIs were second most on the team and fourth best mark in the Big Sky…12 of her 18 RBIs came with two outs in an inning…on Feb. 22, in two games against Delaware and Quinnipiac, she combined to go 4-for-8 with three runs, two doubles, two homers and eight RBIs…had a career-high five RBIs against Delaware, which included a grand slam…third on the team with three multiple-RBI-games…led the Big Sky with 144 putouts…a Big Sky all-academic selection.

2019 Season
Played in 29 games, including 23 starts as a true freshman…that included 13 starts at first base, and 10 at designated player…had 11 hits in 65 at-bats, including four doubles, 10 walks and eight RBIs…had a six-game hitting streak from March 3-10…named the Big Sky Player of the Week on March 11 after hitting .417 (5-for-12) with two doubles, three walks, five RBIs, a .583 slugging percentage, .533 on-base percentage and a 1.116 ops at the Louisville Slugger Tournament in Stockton…during that tourney, she was 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs in a win over Fairleigh Dickinson.

High School

A 2018 graduate of Santiago High School in Corona, Calif…played three years of varsity softball for the Sharks…did not play high school ball during her senior season…helped the Sharks to a three-year combined record of 72-17-1 overall and 25-4-1 in the Big VIII League…the team finished first or second in league all three years, including an undefeated record (10-0) during her freshman season…the 2017 team advanced to the quarterfinals of the CIF Div. I Southern Section playoffs…played at first base all three years for the Sharks…for her career, she hit .371  with a .411 on-base percentage, .550 slugging percentage, .962 ops and 44 RBIs in 67 games…committed just three errors during her career…hit better than .400 during both her freshman and junior seasons…as a junior, Mejia batted .404 (19-for-47) with three doubles, a triple, two homers and 12 RBIs…as a freshman, she went 3-for-3 with two singles and the game-winning home run in the team’s first round win at sections.

Personal
Parents are Louie and Maria Mejia…an exercise science major who graduated from Sacramento State in the spring of 2022…played travel ball for the Corona Angels where she helped the team to a 2017 Ultimate Challenge championship and a first place finish at the Tournament of Champions…hit over .500 and led the team in RBIs at the PGF Nationals.
