2015 Season
An honorable mention all-Big Sky selection…second straight season receiving all-Big Sky recognition as she was a first team choice in 2014…appeared in 46 games, including 40 starts…started 21 games at designated player, and 19 at third base…hit .277 (33-for-119) with seven doubles, five home runs, 26 RBIs, 12 walks, a .462 slugging percentage and a .356 on-base percentage…the five home runs were the second best mark on the team, and the 26 RBIs were the third best mark…of those 26 RBIs, 14 came with two outs…had seven multiple-RBI games, the second most on the team…four of those multi-RBI games came during the final nine games of the year…named all-Big Sky Tournament after accounting for two home runs, five RBIs, 10 total bases and a .769 slugging percentage in four tournament games…in 21 conference games, she hit .250 and had 17 RBIs, the second highest total on the team…had a team-high six plate appearances as a pinch hitter…had 20 RBIs over the Hornets’ final 18 games of the season.
2014 Season
A first team all-Big Sky Conference selection after appearing in 43 games, including 39 starts (36 starts at third base, three at designated player)…batted .303 (36-for-119) with two home runs, a team-high 26 RBIs and a .370 slugging percentage…committed just two errors all season, good for a .970 fielding percentage at third base…hit .368 (21-for-57) with runners in scoring position, a team-high .367 (29-for-79) with runners on base, and a team-best 16 of her 26 RBIs came with two outs in an inning…also had nine multiple-RBI games, three more than any other Hornet…had a nine-game hitting streak from April 8-25…had at least one hit in 15 of 16 games during a stretch from March 21-April 25…against Big Sky opposition, she hit .373 with 15 RBIs in 16 games…the 15 RBIs against conference opposition tied for the seventh best mark in the league…went the final 25 games of the season without committing an error.
2013 Season
Played in seven of the team’s first eight games of the season, making six starts at designated player…suffered a knee injury in practice on Feb. 22, and missed the final 36 games of the year because of the injury…batted .294 (5-for-17) with two runs, a home run, three RBIs and a .471 slugging percentage…drew four walks and had a .455 on-base percentage…went 2-for-3 with a run, home run and two RBIs in a 2-1 victory over rival UC Davis.
High School
A 2012 graduate of James Logan High School in Union City, Calif…played four years for the varsity squad as the starting second baseman…during her four seasons, the Colts combined for a 95-14-1 overall record and a 46-2 league mark…that included perfect 12-0 conference records during each of her final three seasons…in addition, the team won North Coast Section Div. I titles in 2011 and 2012…named first team all-Mission Valley Athletic League during her final two seasons, and second team all-league as a sophomore…hit at least .367 all four years, including a league-leading .494 as a junior…for her career, she batted .405 with 31 doubles, eight triples, three home runs and 80 RBIs…that included a .552 on-base percentage and .765 slugging percentage as a junior…finished her career with a .957 fielding percentage, as she committed just 12 errors in 266 total chances in the infield…committed just one error in 87 chances in 2011.
Personal
Parents are Allen and Maria Martinez…a communication studies major…played for Hayward’s East Bay Impact…also played for the San Jose Lady Sharks from 2008-11.
