Biography

2021 Season
Fifth-year senior who played at Nos. 1 and 2 in the singles lineup, primarily No. 1…played at all three spots in the doubles lineup, primarily No. 2…named the Big Sky Player of the Week after beating 23rd-ranked Damon Kesaris of Saint Mary’s in straight sets (6-4, 6-4)…the win marked the highest ranked opponent defeated by a Sacramento State player since Kiryl Harbatsiuk beat No. 22 Sebastian Fanselow of Pepperdine in 2011…defeated a ranked opponent two years in a row as he knocked off No. 43 Jack Davis of Washington in 2020…finished the season with a 4-7 record in singles play, including 4-4 at No. 1…played at No. 1 in the team’s lineup for the second straight season…finished with 42 career dual singles wins, the 10th best mark in Sacramento State’s Div. I era (1992-pres.)…an ITA Scholar-Athlete selection.

2020 Season
Was the only Hornet to play in the team’s dual singles lineup in all 12 spring matches…played every match at the No. 1 spot in the lineup…posted wins against Saint Mary’s, Nevada and Washington…the win against Washington came against nationally ranked (#43) Jack Davis by a 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 score…named Big Sky Player of the Week on Feb. 26…won the first set against Cal’s nationally ranked Paul Barretto (#68) by a 6-3 score before the match was stopped in the second seat after the Bears had clinched victory…also played in all 12 dual doubles matches in the spring…won four doubles matches, including two at No. 1, and twice at No. 2…played with three partners, primarily Louis Chabut…won each of his final three doubles matches of the season by 6-3 scores…has a combined 65 dual victories during his career, including a 38-31 mark in singles play…owns a 20-14 dual singles record against Big Sky competition, and 18-10 in league doubles matches…because of the season being stopped prematurely due to the coronavirus pandemic, this season will not count as a year of eligibility.

2019 Season
A second team all-Big Conference selection…posted a 13-7 dual singles record, including a 7-3 record against Big Sky opposition…went 7-2 at No. 2 singles, 3-1 at No. 3, 1-3 at No. 4, and 2-1 at No. 5…won each of his final four, and eight of his last nine singles matches of the season…of his 13 singles wins, 12 came in straight sets…named Big Sky Player of the Week and Sacramento State Student-Athlete of the Week on April 17…each of his final seven matches of the year came at No. 2 in the team’s lineup…in doubles play, he was 7-7 overall, and 5-2 in conference matches…in three seasons thus far, Legaspi has a 35-23 dual singles record, including a 20-11 mark against Big Sky opposition…has more wins than losses at every position in the singles lineup except No. 1.

2018 Season
Played all 21 of the team’s spring matches in both singles and doubles play…was a team-best 12-9 in dual singles play, including a 6-5 record against Big Sky opposition…played primarily at No. 4 in the team’s lineup where he was 11-6…between Feb. 23 and April 6, Legaspi was 9-2 in singles play…of his 12 singles victories, 10 came in straight sets…played with two doubles partners, appearing in the first seven matches of the year with Bernardo Moraes, and playing the last 14 matches with Louis Chabut…overall, he was 11-10 in doubles play, including 8-3 against Big Sky opposition…was 8-6 at No. 3 with Chabut, and 3-4 with Moraes (3-3 at No. 2, 0-1 at No. 3).

2017 Season

Played in 18 dual singles matches during the spring as a true freshman…posted a 10-7 singles record as one of his matches went unfinished…went 7-3 in conference play…finished the season on a three-game singles winning streak, and won five of his last six matches…played at three different spots in the lineup, including an 0-1 record at No. 4, 4-3 at No. 5, and 6-3 at No. 6…nine of his 10 victories came in straight sets…was leading his match vs. Idaho’s Guilherem Scarpelli at No. 6 in the Big Sky Tournament semifinals before that match was stopped…posted a 5-8 dual doubles record, including 3-4 in league play…played with three different doubles partners,  primarily with Louis Chabut (3-3).
