2025 Season
• Played the majority of the season at No. 4 singles for the Hornets
• Played in 18 dual singles matches - 17 at No. 4, and once at No. 5
• Went 6-8 in dual doubles play, including 1-1 at No. 1, 4-5 at No. 2, and 1-2 at No. 3
• Primarily played with partner Nick Bowles, as the duo finished 5-6
• Fourth-year senior helped the Hornets to 51 combined wins during his tenure
• Was a member of the doubles lineup all four years of his career
• That includes 28 career wins in doubles play
• A Big Sky all-academic selection for the fourth straight season
2024 Season
• A second team all-Big Sky selection in doubles play
• Won 10 doubles matches during the spring, including a 5-3 mark in Big Sky play
• Primarily played with Adam Chodur, where the duo went 8-8, including 5-3 in conference play
• Combined with Chodur to go 8-6 at No. 2 in the team’s lineup
• Rand and Chodur won each of their final three doubles matches of regular season
• Also partnered with Jiri Novak in six matches
• Rand/Novak clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 win in the Hornets’ victory over Northern Arizona in the Big Sky Tournament championship match
• Rand went 4-1 in singles play, including 3-0 at No. 5 and 1-1 at No. 6
• Finished career with 22-20 dual doubles record
• A Big Sky all-academic selection for the third straight season
• An ITA Scholar-Athlete selection
2023 Season
• Played in five dual singles matches during the spring
• Posted a 3-2 record, including 3-0 at No. 4
• Won each his final three singles matches of the season (all in straight sets)
• Went 8-3 in dual doubles play, including 1-0 at No. 2, and 7-3 at No. 3
• Posted a 5-2 doubles record with Ori Maior, and 3-1 with Patrick Wong
• Won six of his final eight doubles matches of the season
• A Big Sky all-academic selection for the second straight season
2022 Season
• Went 8-4 in spring singles play as a true freshman
• That included 1-1 at No. 4, 2-2 at No. 5, and 5-1 at No. 6
• Also went 4-3 in Big Sky matches
• Won five straight singles matches between March 23-April 9
• Won eight of his first nine singles matches of the season
• Was 4-0 in three-set matches
• Went 4-5 in doubles play, including 4-3 against conference opposition
• Played with four different doubles partners, primarily with Ori Maior where they went 4-2 overall, and 4-1 against Big Sky foes
• A Big Sky all-academic selection
High School
• Attended West Ranch High School in Stevenson Ranch, Calif., and Learning Post Academy in Santa Clarita, Calif
• tennisrecruiting.net four-star recruit
• Played one season of high school tennis (at West Ranch) before focusing on elite tournament play the remainder of his prep career
• Spent six months playing in UTR tournaments prior to his arrival at Sacramento State
• Was ranked among the top 10 players in 16-under USTA Southern California rankings
• At West Ranch HS, he was the only freshman on the varsity team, and posted a 22-3 singles record
• Named second team all-league that season, and helped the Wildcats to a Foothill League championship
• Graduated magna cum laude.
Personal
• Did not begin playing tennis until he was 13 years old
• A communication studies major who will graduate in the summer of 2025
• Parents are Ashlie and Armando Rand
• Mother, Ashlie, played collegiate softball at Massachusetts, and father, Armando, played collegiate golf at College of the Canyons
