Biography

2021 Season
Missed a large chunk of the season with injury…played in seven games, including four starts (all four in right field)…had 12 at-bats, and finished with two hits and a run scored…hits came against UC Davis and Santa Clara…a Big Sky all-academic selection.

2020 Season
Missed the majority of the season with injury…made first appearance as a pinch runner on Feb. 28 vs. Utah State…started the final two games of the shortened season on March 8 when she combined to go 3-for-6 with a run and an RBI against Pacific and Nevada…had a pinch hit appearance on Feb. 28 vs. Texas State and another pinch running appearance vs. UConn on March 1.

2019 Season
An honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference selection as a true freshman…after starting four of the first 29 games of the season, she started each of the final 27 games of the year…that included starts in 16 of the team’s 17 games in league play…played in 44 games overall, including 31 starts - 22 in right field, six at designated player and three in left field…hit .333 (40-for-120) with 19 runs, two doubles, two triples, seven RBIs, a pair of stolen bases and a .372 on-base percentage…hit .333 with runners in scoring position, and .375 with runners on base…hit .404 in conference play, the eighth best mark in the Big Sky…had a 12-game hitting streak, the longest by a Hornet during the year and tied for the 12th longest streak in the program’s Div. I era (1990-pres.)…had three hits in a game on three different occasions…was a nominee for Sacramento State Female Newcomer of the Year.

High School

A 2018 graduate of Napa High School…played four years of softball and two years of basketball for the Indians…was a four-year varsity starting outfielder for the softball team…a two-time Cal-Hi Sports all-state selection…was named first team all-state as an outfielder in 2017, and second team all-state as an outfielder in 2018…a four-time all-Monticello Empire League selection (first team each of her final three years, second team as a freshman)…in 2017, she was named Player of the Year on The Napa Valley Register’s 2017 All-Napa County team after leading the Indians to their first-ever Sac-Joaquin Div. II Section championship…in the second title game, she went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBIs…hit .511 as a senior, and .512 as a junior…finished her four-year career with a .457 batting average, a .511 on-base percentage and a 1.094 ops…in 107 career games, she had 160 hits with 113 runs scored and 84 RBIs…scored 66 runs in 55 gams during her final two seasons…was a member of the honor roll all four years, and finished high school with better than a 3.8 grade point average.

Personal
Parents are Warren and DeAnna Bowers…a child and adolescent development major…played travel ball for Sorcerer Gold 18U where she hit .460 during the summer of 2017…mother, DeAnna, was a four-year starting pitcher at Utah State…was inducted into the Utah State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016, and is one of just seven softball players in school history to earn All-American honors.
