TRIP INSIGHTS
This June the Men’s Basketball team will embark on a two (2) week foreign tour of Australia to compete against top level teams in Sydney, Melbourne, and the Gold Coast. This will be the second time in Sacramento State’s history the team will travel abroad to test its skill against international competition. These competitions provide a unique competitive advantage for the Hornets as it allows the team to practice for an additional 10 days prior to the trip and play an additional 4-5 games before heading into the regular season play.
The tour also provides coach David Patrick the opportunity to expose the team to other cultures and customs while connecting with Australians and their history. Part of the tour will include unique Australian experiences like visiting the Sydney Opera House, the Taronga Zoo, attending an Australian Rules football game and a cricket match along with an introduction to the indigenous culture of Australia.
This unique experience will allow the team to grow and bond together so they can come back and compete for the Big Sky Championship.
To make this opportunity happen we need your help. Traveling abroad comes at a cost and while we have raised funds for the trip, we need an additional $50,000 to make this trip a reality.

- Sponsor a Student Athlete: Your support directly impacts travel expenses, accommodations, and cultural experiences for our athletes. It costs approximately $6,000 per athlete to fund this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We have Eight (8) student athletes left to cover. This donation is tax deductible.
- Donate: Any level is appreciated. This tax-deductible contribution will help give the Hornets a competitive advantage while providing our student athletes a once in the lifetime opportunity.
