Biography

2020 Season
One of four Hornets to play in all 26 games during the shortened season…made 23 starts, including four at first base and 19 at designated player…hit .290 (20-for-69) with 14 runs, five doubles, one triple, four homers, nine walks and 17 RBIs…also had a .380 on-base percentage and .565 slugging percentage…the 10 extra base hits tied a team best…had a team-high tying four multiple-RBI games…had a five-game hitting streak from Feb. 15-22…recorded RBIs in 10 different games…posted the second multiple home run game of her career when she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two homers and three RBIs against Loyola Marymount…has now played in 135 career games, including 130 starts with the Hornets…has 20 career homers and 106 RBIs, and both of those marks rank third in school history…her .491 slugging percentage ranks sixth…recipient of the Female Hornet Award, which goes to the Sacramento State female student-athletes that best exemplifes the spirit of a Hornet with their sportsmanship, community service and special intangibles that make them a great teammate…a Big Sky all-academic selection for the third time.

2019 Season
Was having a big year until suffering a season-ending knee injury on Feb. 24…will receive a medical hardship and get a year of eligibility back…started each of the first 12 games of the season, all at first base, prior to the injury…hit .394 (13-for-33) with eight runs, three doubles, six walks, three homers and 13 RBIs…also had a .758 slugging percentage, .476 on-base percentage 1.234 ops…had at least one RBI in eight of the 12 games in which she played…that included RBIs in each of the first six games of the season.

2018 Season
An honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference selection after starting all 51 games at first base…hit .236 (35-for-148) with seven doubles, three homers, three stolen bases, 28 RBIs and a .349 on-base percentage…walked 22 times, the eighth most in the Big Sky…the 28 RBIs were tied for second most on the team…raised her batting average to .254 during conference play…hit .309 with runners in scoring position, and .286 with runners on base…had 13 two-out RBIs, second most on the team…had seven RBIs over the final six games of the season…was 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBIs in a win at Montana on the final day of the regular season, allowing the Hornets to win the Big Sky regular season championship…her 329 putouts were third most in the Big Sky…a Big Sky All-Academic selection for the second straight year.

2017 Season
An honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference selection as a true freshman after appearing in 46 games, including 44 starts…43 of those starts came at third base and one at designated player…the four games she missed were because of injury…hit .303 (44-for-145) with 17 runs scored, five doubles, 10 homers, 48 RBIs, five walks, a .545 slugging percentage and .331 on-base percentage…averaged more than one RBI per game (1.04)…that average of 1.04 RBIs per game ranked 23rd in the nation…the 48 RBIs were a team high, third most in the conference and the third best single-season mark in Sacramento State history…the 10 homers are tied for the fourth best single-season mark in school history…hit .426 with runners in scoring position and .361 with runners on base…in 15 opportunities with a runner at third base and less than two outs, she drove in the run 12 times, good for a massive .800 success rate…easily led the team with 13 multiple-RBI games…had seven games with at least three RBIs, including six at North Dakota and five vs. Idaho State…finished the season on a nine-game hitting streak, batting .458 (11-for-24) with two doubles, three homers and 10 RBIs during the streak…at the Big Sky Tournament, she combined to go 6-for-10 with two doubles, a homer and six RBIs…hit .344 in conference play with seven homers and 23 RBIs in 19 games…had 11 multiple-hit games, including four games with at least three hits…her six RBIs at North Dakota were one shy of the program’s single-game record for RBIs in a game…a Big Sky all-academic selection…named an NFCA Scholar-Athlete for academic prowess.

High School

A 2016 graduate of Union High School in Camas, Wash…played four years of softball and soccer for the Titans…in softball, she was a four-year starter on the varsity squad, playing both catcher and third base…was a two-time 4A Greater St. Helens League Player of the Year, two-time first team all-region, three-time first team all-league and three-time team MVP selection…as a senior, she suffered a season-ending knee injury two games into the season…in those two games, she went 5 for 5 with two home runs and was intentionally walked three times…as a junior, Spieth hit .694 with 36 runs scored, nine doubles, two triples, 10 home runs, 46 RBIs, a .753 on-base percentage, a 1.292 slugging percentage and massive 2.045 ops…also had a fielding percentage of .979…that season, she helped lead the team to a 14-5 overall record and a 9-3 mark in conference…a two-time Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) Distinguished Athletic Award recipient, two-time WIAA Outstanding Scholastic Award recipient and a 2015 WIAA Scholar-Athlete Award winner.

Personal
A social science major…parents are Larry and Linda Spieth…played club ball for the Northwest Bullets of Tualatin, Ore…18 of her teammates during her time with the Bullets has played, or currently plays Div. I softball…took a trip to Costa Rica during Spring Break of 2016 to help build a basketball court for children of a farming village as part of the Courts for Kids charity program.
