Biography

2023 Season
Appeared in seven games, including one start and six in relief…had nine strikeouts in 15.0 innings pitched…went 2-1 with victories over Utah Valley and Saint Mary’s…threw 4.1 innings at UC Davis, allowing just one run and five hits in a no-decision.

2022 Season
Made 12 appearances for the Hornets in the circle, all in relief…threw 26.0 innings…in conference play, she was 2-0 with a 4.06 ERA and .263 opponent batting average…threw two innings of shutout relief at Weber State in the Big Sky Conference championship game…threw a combined eight straight shutout innings, which included four innings of one-hit ball against Stanford, and four innings of four-hit ball vs. Montana…had a 2.74 ERA over her final seven appearances of the season…an NFCA Scholar-Athlete selection for academic excellence.

2021 Season

Made 16 appearances in the circle as a true freshman, including six starts…went 2-2 with a 5.36 ERA and 48.1 innings pitched…five of her six starts came against Big Sky opposition…picked up a win vs. Northern Colorado, allowing just three hits and a run over four innings of relief work…other win came in a four-inning start at Montana…allowed just two runs in 5.2 innings in a start vs. Idaho State…the Hornets eventually won that game, 4-2.

High School

A 2020 graduate of Santiago High School in Corona, Calif…played four years of softball for Santiago, the same high school that produced current Hornet first baseman Alondra Mejia…Santiago High School had its season shut down just 12 games into Alcantara’s senior year because of the coronoavirus pandemic…Alcantara was 2-0 with a 2.86 ERA before the season was shut down…in 2019, she played for a Sharks squad that ranked fifth in the state and reached the quarterfinal round of the CIF Southern Section Div. I Championship…that year, she posted a 2.85 ERA and 0.86 WHIP while holding opponents to a .211 batting average…as a sophomore, she hit six home runs, including a grand slam…was a member of the school’s honor roll all four years

Personal
Parents are Elmer and Kerry Alcantara…a child development major…selected to play for the Philippine National Team where the squad competed at the Canada Cup during June of 2022…played travel ball for So Cal Athletics Briggs in Anaheim…that team placed in the top 16 at the National Premier tournament in 2018.
