Biography

2016 Season
Played in 46 games as a true freshman, including 44 starts in right field…hit .233 (28-for-120) with 22 runs scored, 12 RBIs, 10 walks and a .293 on-base percentage…was 5-for-5 in stolen base opportunities…also had three sacrifices and two sacrifice flies…in 12 opportunities with a runner at third base and less than two outs, she drove in the run seven times…had a season-high six-game hitting streak from Feb. 21-March 2…had seven multiple-hit games…her 22 runs scored were the fifth most on the team…scored a run in four straight games from April 8-12, including a season-best three runs in a win at Northern Colorado…hit .262 (11-for-42) with runners in scoring position.

High School

A 2015 graduate of Cajon High School in San Bernardino, Calif…played four years of varsity softball for the Cowboys as a middle infielder and outfielder…a four-year starter, she helped the team to a combined 71-36-1 overall record and 37-20 mark in the Citrus Belt League…that includes a pair of CIF Div. II Section Playoff appearances in 2012 and 2014…the left-handed slap hitter stole 69 bases over four seasons, and was caught stealing just four times…was 23-for-23 in steal attempts as a senior and 26-for-28 as a junior…was named second team all-Citrus League during each of her final two seasons…raised her batting average every season of her career, culminating in a .561 batting average as a senior with 25 runs scored, six doubles, a home run, 17 RBIs, a .630 on-base percentage and a 1.357 ops…after hitting .277 as a freshman, she batted .328 as a sophomore and .366 as a junior before her breakout senior season…struck out just 20 times in 274 career at-bats, or once every 13.7 at-bats…finished her career with a .383 batting average, including 75 runs, 59 RBIs, 69 stolen bases and a .444 on-base percentage in 103 games played.

Parents are Jaime and Michelle Alas…a nursing major…played ASA club ball for the Firecrackers of Huntington Beach.
