2016 Season
A second team all-Big Sky Conference selection after starting 47 of the Hornets’ 50 games…that included 32 starts at catcher and 15 at third base…a four-time all-Big Sky selection, including a second team choice in 2014 and honorable mention in 2013 and 2015…becomes the Hornets’ first four-time all-league performer since Emily McCormick accomplished the feat from 2010-13…batted .307 (39-for-127) with 12 doubles, a home run, 16 RBIs, 11 walks, 13 hit-by-pitches and a .412 on-base percentage…committed just three errors all season long, good for a .981 fielding percentage…batted .414 in conference play, tied for the team lead…also had a .493 on-base percentage during conference play…hit safely in 16 of the final 17 games of the season…during that 17-game stretch, she hit a team-best .418 (23-for-55) with five doubles, 10 RBIs and a .600 slugging percentage…had a carer-high 10-game hitting streak as part of that stretch and ended the season on a six-game hitting streak…also had a career-high streak of reaching base safely in 19 consecutive games…hit better than .300 each of her final three seasons, and finished with a .303 career batting average…lowest batting average of her career was .286 as a freshman…the durable Solis started at least 42 games in each of her four seasons…ranks among the top 20 players in Sacramento State’s Div. I-era career record book in 10 different offensive categories, including second in hit-by-pitches (30), third in walks (60), tied for fourth in doubles (36) and fifth in on-base percentage (.409).
2015 Season
An honorable mention all-Big Sky selection…appeared in 45 games, including 42 starts (33 starts at catcher, nine at designated player)…hit .304 (31-for-102) with 17 runs scored, six doubles, two home runs, 15 RBIs, 24 walks and a team-high .470 on-base percentage…also had five sacrifices and a .990 fielding percentage…hit .342 (13-for-38) with two outs in an inning…had eight walks during the final five games of the season, including four walks in the Big Sky Tournament opener against Weber State…those four walks tied a Hornet Div. I-era single-game record as she is one of only three players to accomplish the feat…in Big Sky play, she hit .348 with two home runs, 10 RBIs and a .464 on-base percentage…during the Big Sky Tournament, she hit .375 (3-for-8) with seven walks and a .667 on-base percentage.
2014 Season
A second team all-Big Sky Conference selection, Solis was one of three Hornets to start all 46 games…that included 32 starts at designated player and 14 starts behind the plate…hit .316 (43-for-136) with 15 runs scored, a team-high 10 doubles, 17 RBIs, a .390 slugging percentage, 17 walks and a .414 on-base percentage…did not commit an error all season…had 10 multiple-hit games, tied for second most on the Hornets…had four hitting streaks of at least four games, including an eight-game streak which lasted from April 5-19…reached base safely in 41 of 46 games during the season…hit .372 (16-for-43) with runners in scoring position and .306 (26-for-85) with runners on base…struck out just 17 times, or once every 8.0 at-bats…batted a team-high .392 against Big Sky competition, including six doubles, 11 RBIs and a .458 on-base percentage in 16 league games…hit safely in 18 of the final 21 games of the season.
2013 Season
Played in 43 of the team’s 44 games as a true freshman, starting 42 times (41 at catcher, once at designated player)…an honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference selection after batting .286 with eight doubles, one triple, three home runs, 17 RBIs and a .437 slugging percentage…among team leaders, she was first in slugging percentage, second in doubles and home runs, and third in RBIs…at one point during the season, she reached base safely in 16 straight games, the longest streak by a Hornet…also had an eight-game hitting streak, tied for the second longest mark on the team…committed just two errors all season, and finished with a .992 fielding percentage…hit .304 against Big Sky competition, .304 with runners in scoring position, and tied for the team lead with four multiple-RBI games…caught a pitching staff that finished the season with a 2.33 ERA, easily the best mark in the Big Sky and the 40th best mark in the nation.
High School
A 2012 graduate of Lodi High School…played three years of softball as a starter for the varsity squad (2009-11)…spent her first two seasons as the starting catcher before playing shortstop as a junior…did not player her senior year…was named the San Joaquin Athletic Association MVP each of her three seasons…named the league’s co-MVP as a junior after batting .482 with 22 runs, 23 RBIs, 13 doubles and two triples as the team’s cleanup hitter…drew 13 walks (.511 on-base percentage) while striking out just three times in 83 at-bats…helped lead Lodi to a co-SJAA championship all three years, including a combined 58-24-1 overall record and a 25-5 league mark…never hit below .450 in any of her three high school seasons…that includes a sophomore year where she batted .451 with 18 runs and 21 RBIs in 24 games, and a freshman season in which she hit .521 with 21 runs and 21 RBIs in 25 games…also named the SJAA Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore…finished her high school career batting .474 (109-for-230) with 52 runs, 62 RBIs and 30 doubles in 75 games.
Personal
Daughter of Donna Hovater…a child development major who is on pace to graduate from Sacramento State in the fall of 2016…played three years for the California Grapettes Gold ASA travel team (Lodi, Calif.)…played on the 2011 squad with Hornet teammates Caitlin Brooks and Nicole Clark.
