2013 Season

One of two Hornets to start all 44 games with each of those starts coming at third base…an honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference selection, the fourth straight year she garnered some form of all-league recognition…hit .301 with 21 runs, 11 doubles, one triple, two home runs, 19 RBIs, 12 walks and a .365 on-base percentage…led the team in doubles and RBIs…hit .294 in Big Sky Conference play and .338 with runners on base…had 10 multiple-hit games, and tied for the team lead with four multiple-RBI games…had a career-high nine-game hitting streak, the longest by a Hornet during the season…a Big Sky all-tournament selection after batting .600 (3-for-5) with three runs, two walks, a home run and three RBIs over two games…connected on a seventh-inning, three-run homer to force extra innings in the first round of the Big Sky Tournament against Idaho State…played in 179 career games, including 175 starts…started each of the final 116 games of her career…in Sacramento State’s Div. I-era career record book (1990-pres), she ranks first in doubles (42), second in RBIs (106), tied for second in home runs (19), seventh in batting average (.323) and eighth in hits (181)…her 381 assists are the also the sixth best mark in the Div. I era.

2012 Season
A first team all-PCSC Coastal Division for the second straight season after starting all 46 games, including 43 starts at third base and three at designated player…hit .340 with 20 runs scored, 10 doubles, five home runs, 31 RBIs, 12 walks and a .389 on-base percentage…committed just two errors all season at third base, good for a robust .986 fielding percentage…upped her batting average to .362 against conference competition, including a .609 slugging percentage…one of the best clutch hitters on the squad, she batted .339 with runners in scoring position, .382 with two outs, and drove in the run 10 times in 16 at-bats with a runner at third base and less than two outs…tied for the team lead with 17 multi-hit games, and ranked second on the squad with nine multi-RBI contests…named to the PCSC’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2011 Season
A first team all-PCSC Coastal Division selection after starting all but two games at third base…hit .313 while posting team highs in home runs (6), RBIs (25), slugging percentage (.527) and total bases (69)…also had a .371 on-base percentage and was successful on all three of her stolen base attempts…in conference play, she averaged one home run every 12.2 at-bats, and ranked among the league’s top 10 players in total bases (10th with 39), slugging percentage (10th, .639) and home runs (T-6th with five)…hit .311 against conference competition…a team-best 15 of her 25 RBIs came with two outs, and her eight multiple-RBI games were three more than any other Sacramento State player…had three hitting streaks of at least five games long, and hit four home runs over the final seven games of the year.

2010 Season
A second team all-PCSC Coastal Division selection after batting .338 with 25 runs, 13 doubles, six home runs, 31 RBIs, 10 walks and a .397 on-base percentage…the .338 batting average was the third best mark posted by a Sacramento State freshman since the program joined the Div. I ranks in 1990…appeared in 47 games, including 43 starts at three positions (25 starts at shortstop, 16 starts at second base, and two at designated player)…destroyed conference pitching all season, finishing the year with a .449 batting average against PCSC opposition, the best mark in the Coastal Division…also, among division leaders (conference games only), she finished first in hits (31) and doubles (7), second in total bases (53) and on-base percentage (.486), third in slugging percentage (.768) and fourth in home runs (5) and RBIs (19)…named PCSC Player of the Week on May 12 after batting .750 (12-for-16) with five runs scored, three doubles, two home runs, 10 RBIs, 21 total bases and a 1.313 slugging percentage during the final four-game series of the season at Loyola Marymount…during a three-game stretch (May 8-9), she had a hit in nine consecutive at-bats which tied for the seventh best mark in NCAA Div. I history, and the second best mark in Sacramento State history…raised her batting average 55 points during the final week of the season…had seven multiple-RBI games, including three games with four RBIs…also had 12 multiple-hit games, including a pair of games with four hits.

High School
A 2009 graduate of Sultana High School in Hesperia, Calif…played all four years of varsity softball at both shortstop and third base…a three-time all-Mojave River League and three-time all-area selection…also received the team offensive MVP award three times, and served as team captain her final three seasons…hit at least .400 all four years of high school, including a .522 average as a senior and .533 as a junior…in 23 games her senior season, she had 27 runs, three doubles, six triples, two home runs and 15 RBIs…as a junior, McCormick recorded seven home runs, 27 RBIs and a 1.017 slugging percentage in 22 games…that included a game against league rival Rim of the World High School where she had three home runs and seven RBIs.

Personal
Parents are David and Ann McCormick…on pace to graduate in the fall of 2013 with a psychology degree…in 2008-09, she played outfield, second base and shortstop for 18-Gold teamSmith, coached by former U.S. Olympian Julie Smith…played on that squad with Hornet teammate Kelli Frye…also a member of the American Pastime team that won the ASA 18A Western National Championship where she batted third and played primarily at third base.
