Biography

2024 Beach Season
An honorable mention all-Big West Conference selection for the second straight season…played in all 28 matches, winning 13 times…that included a 10-10 record at No. 1 in the team’s lineup…13 wins are tied for the third best single-season mark in program history…played 14 matches with Ellie Tisko, and 14 with Greta Davis…was named all-league as a pair with Tisko…the two combined for a 9-5 record, including 9-3 at No. 1…won four of their last six matches of the season, including a straight set victory at No. 1 over CSU Bakersfield at the Big West Tournament…finished beach career with 28 wins, the second highest total in school history…a Big West all-academic selection for the fourth straight season.

2023 Beach Season
An honorable mention all-Big West Conference selection after playing in 22 of the Hornets’ 23 matches at the No. 1 spot in the lineup…played all 22 of those matches with teammate Bridgette Smith…the duo compiled nine wins, which included victories over teams from UC Davis, Santa Clara, Pacific, San Francisco, CSU Bakersfield and Liberty…of those nine wins, six came in straight sets…the nine victories are the third most by a doubles team in program single-season history…in addition, the nine wins are the most posted by a No. 1 Hornet doubles team…started the season by winning each of their first four matches…a Big West all-academic selection for the third straight season.

2022 Beach Season
Played in all 23 matches during the season…played 10 matches at No. 1, 10 matches at No. 2, twice at No. 3, and once at No. 4…all but one of those matches came with teammate Macey Hayden…the other match came with Ellie Tisko…went 3-0 vs. duos from San Francisco…a Big West all-academic selection for the second straight season.

2021 Beach Season

Played in all nine matches at the No. 2 spot in the Hornets’ lineup with teammate Paige Swinney…the tandem went 3-6, which included wins over Pacific (twice) and San Jose State…of their nine matches together, four went to three sets…in those four three-setters, Hayes/Swinney posted a 3-1 record…a Big West all-academic selection.

2020 Beach Season

Played in the preseason exhibition pairs tournament…was not in the lineup for any of the six regular season matches, but did play in some exhibition matches.

High School

A 2019 graduate of Clackamas High School in Clackamas, Ore…played four years of varsity volleyball and basketball…in volleyball, she was a four-time all-Mt. Hood League selection, including first team during both her junior and senior seasons, and honorable mention as a freshman and sophomore…during her senior season in 2018, she was also named honorable mention all-state…helped the Cavaliers to a combined four-year record of 85-28 overall and 48-12 in league play…that included the 2016 season, when she was named all-tournament at the state championship after helping Clackamas to a state runner-up finish…in the state championship game, Hayes posted 10 kills and five blocks against Central Catholic High School, and received the game MVP honors…in both 2016 and 2018, Hayes was the recipient of Multnomah Athletic Club Scholar Athlete accolades, an honor awarded to a select group of student-athletes based on their academic and athletic achievements…also excelled on the basketball court, where she was a four-time first team all-Mt. Hood League selection, including the conference’s Player of the Year as a junior…in both 2018 and 2019, she was named first team all-state by USA Today.

Personal
Daughter of William and Lehua Hayes…a communication studies major, Hayes graduated cum laude with a 3.77 gpa in the spring of 2023, and is currently working on a second bachelor’s in fashion management…played club volleyball for the Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy.
