Biography

2018 Beach Season
Played in all 21 matches during the season with each of those coming at the No. 1 (0-3), No. 2 (4-8) or No. 3 (1-5) spots in the team’s lineup…played with four different partners, primarily with Kennedy Kurtz at No. 2…won four straight matches with Kurtz from April 7-14…two of those wins came in three sets over duos from Boise State (21-16, 15-21, 24-22) and San Jose State (21-16, 22-24, 18-16)…started the season playing at No. 3, then was moved to No. 2, before playing the final three matches of the season at No. 1.

2017 Beach Season

One of six Hornets to play in all 19 matches…posted an 8-11 record, including 7-8 at No. 4 and 1-3 at No. 5…played with three different partners, including Hannah Meadows (6-5), Skyler Takeda (1-4) and Paige Swinney (1-2)…playing alongside Meadows, the duo dropped their first four matches together before winning six of their final seven…that included a five-match winning streak (April 7-28), the longest streak by any Hornet doubles team during the season…played each of the final five matches of the year at No. 5, going 4-1 during that stretch…that included a 2-1 record at the Big West Tournament, securing victories against doubles teams from CSUN and CSU Bakersfield…it was Brown/Meadows that clinched the Hornets’ first-ever Big West Tournament win with a 22-20, 17-21, 15-11 victory at No. 4 over CSUN…overall, Brown finished the season strong, winning seven of her final 10 matches…a Big West all-academic selection.

2016 Beach Season
One of six Hornets to play in all 22 matches…posted a 7-15 record, including 3-12 at No. 3, 0-1 at No. 4, and 4-2 at No. 5…played with four different partners, including a 3-12 record with Lexie Skalbeck, 3-2 with Hannah Meadows, 1-0 with Brigitte Murdock and 0-1 with Julia Wright…one of the wins with Meadows came in three sets (23-21, 21-23, 15-13) at No. 5 over 19th-ranked Cal…won four of her first six matches of the season, including victories over opponents from Saint Mary’s, San Jose State, San Francisco and Cal during that span…posted back-to-back three-set wins with Skalbeck at No. 3 over opponents from CSU Bakersfield and San Jose State on April 9…a Big West all-academic selection.

2015 Beach Season
Played in one non-exhibition match during her first season of sand volleyball…in that match, she played at No. 5 with Hannah Meadows and lost at Stanford by a 21-11, 21-15 score.

High School
A 2014 graduate of Shasta High School in Redding, Calif…played four years of volleyball and three seasons of basketball for the Wolves…did not play her senior year of basketball to concentrate on the club volleyball season…in volleyball, she helped the Wolves to three straight Northern Section finals appearances (2011-13), including a Div. II section championship in 2011…finished her remarkable career with 965 kills, 679 blocks and a .373 hitting percentage…the 679 total blocks and 421 solo blocks are the all-time leading marks in the Northern Section…moreover, in the National Federation of High Schools Record Book, the 679 blocks rank second all-time, and just one block shy of the all-time record…a two-time third team All-American for medium schools (2012, 2013)…as a senior, she was third team all-state, first team all-Northern Section and first team all-Sacramento River League after leading her team to a 26-13 overall record and a league co-championship…that season, she averaged 3.5 kills and 2.5 blocks per set while hitting .423…as a junior, she was a first team all-state, first team all-Northern Section and first team all-Sacramento River League after leading the state in both total blocks (298) and solo stuffs (184) while tallying 3.3 kills and 2.6 blocks per set to go with a .416 hitting percentage…led Shasta HS in blocks and hitting percentage all three years of her varsity career, and was also a three-time first team all-Record Searchlight selection…for her career, including her JV season as a freshman, she finished with averages of 2.8 kills and 2.0 blocks per set.

Parents are Lance and Laura Brown…a biology major…played club for the Shasta Creations Volleyball Club in Redding, Calif.
