Biography
2017 Beach Season
Played the first four matches of the season at No. 2 with Lexie Skalbeck…however, Boyle did not play the final 15 matches of the year while resting an injury…Boyle and Skalbeck were 3-1, which included victories in each of their first three matches of the season…that included straight set wins over tandems from Santa Clara, San Francisco and San Jose State…with the score tied at 2-2, it was Boyle and Skalbeck that clinched a 3-2 home win over San Jose State on March 11 after winning, 21-13, 23-21…only loss of the season came at No. 2 in three sets against Boise State (21-19, 16-21, 15-11).
2016 Beach Season
Played the first seven matches of the year at No. 2 with Morgan Stanley before an injury forced Boyle to miss the remainder of the beach season…went 0-7 in those matches, but four of those contests came against ranked opposition and the others were against Saint Mary’s, San Jose State and San Francisco.
2015 Beach Season
In her first season of sand volleyball, Boyle produced a 7-7 record…that included a 7-6 record with Lexie Skalbeck where the tandem went 6-5 at No. 3, and 1-1 at No. 4…also went 0-1 at No. 3 with Lauren Kissell…the combination of Boyle and Skalbeck was the Hornets’ most consistent doubles team…played the first two matches of the season at No. 4, before playing the rest of the year at the No. 3 position…the tandem of Boyle/Skalbeck also won four of their last six matches of the season, which included a three-game winning streak against teams from Santa Clara, San Francisco and Cal, respectively…of their seven wins, four came in three sets…played six matches that lasted three sets, and went 4-2 in those matchups.
High School
A 2014 graduate of Ridgefield High School in Ridgefield, Wash…played four years of volleyball, basketball and softball for the Spudders while earning 12 varsity letters…during her senior year, she was named first team all-region in all three sports by The Columbian, the only player to achieve that honor during the 2013-14 academic year…also as a senior, she was the 2A Greater St. Helens League Player of the Year after leading the Spudder volleyball squad to its second straight league championship, a district runner-up finish, and an appearance in the state tournament…had 25 kills, 21 digs and five blocks in the 2013 league championship match…was the team’s starting outside hitter during both those league championship seasons…an all-league selection in volleyball all four years, including first team each of her final three seasons (honorable mention as a freshman)…also a three-time first team all-region selection…amazingly, between volleyball, softball and basketball, she earned some form of all-league recognition 11 times, including first team accolades on eight occasions…also the recipient of first team all-region multi-sport status three years in a row (2012-14).
Personal
Parents are Frank and Beth Boyle…a child development major who graduated from Sacramento State in May of 2017…played club for Excel NW Volleyball Club in Vancouver, Wash.
