Biography

As a senior (2015): A second team all-American Athletic Conference selection, Evers was one of just five Hornets to compete with the varsity eight in every spring race…after sitting in the six seat with the Hornets’ top boat the first six races of the season, Evers sat at five each of the final five races…that included sitting at five for the varsity eight’s bronze medal winning performance at the American Athletic Conference Championship… recipient of CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors for the third straight year, recognizing rowing student-athletes with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average…one of just seven rowers in school history to receive the honor three times during their careers…competed with the varsity eight all four years of her career, and missed just two races over that span…the versatile Evers sat in the four, five, six, seven and stroke seats with the varsity eight during her career.

As a junior (2014):
Raced with the varsity eight in 11 spring races, sitting at stroke for each of the boat’s final eight competitions…also sat at four on two occasions, and at seven on one occasion…stroked the boat to a silver medal at the WIRA Championships…recipient of CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors for the second straight year…also named to the Conference USA Honor Roll for academics.

As a sophomore (2013):
Named the team’s Most Outstanding Rower…competed with the varsity eight in every spring race…sat at stroke on five occasions, in the seven seat on four occasions, and the five seat twice…sat at stroke in the V8 in five of the boat’s last seven races of the year…helped the boat to an 8-5 dual-meet record…recipient of the National Scholar-Athlete Award, given to rowers with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average.

As a freshman (2012): Competed with the varsity eight in all but one race, primarily in the five seat…sat in the seven seat once with the team’s top boat, and the five seat on 10 occasions…helped the varsity eight to a bronze medal at the WIRA Championships, and a sixth place showing (out of 33 entries) at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia…also competed one time with the second varsity eight - in the four seat in the dual against UC Davis…one just 20 freshmen rowers from across the nation to be selected to the 2012 USRowing Women’s Freshman Camp which takes place June 11-17, 2012, in Seattle.

High School: A 2011 graduate of Cactus Shadows High School in Cave Creek, Ariz…played three years of basketball, and competed in one season of swimming…as a freshman, she was a member of the varsity swimming squad which qualified for the regional playoffs…a member of the National Honor Society during her junior and senior years.

Personal: Parents are David and Cathy…a kinesiology major…has a 2,000-meter ergometer time of 7:04.6…competed with the Tempe Town Lake Rowing Club for one year…graduated from Sacramento State in May of 2015.
