MOSCOW, Idaho -- Idaho won each of the doubles and singles matches to defeat Sacramento State, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Kibbie Dome.
The loss dropped the Hornets to 7-7 overall and 1-1 in the Big Sky Conference. Idaho improved to 8-10 and 2-0 in league. Sacramento State was playing just its second match in a dome this season.
Both
Martin Duris at No. 1 (6-4, 3-6, 6-4) and
Nick Bowles at No. 4 (6-4, 3-6, 6-4) fell in three sets while the Hornets lost the other four singles matchups in straight sets.
Idaho swept the doubles matches. The duo of Duris/
Miles Whitehead lost, 7-6 (4).
Sacramento State has seven matches left in the regular season, and five of those will be against Big Sky opposition.
One of those Big Sky contests will come Saturday when the Hornets host Northern Arizona on campus at noon.
