SACRAMENTO -- Nine different Hornets posted straight-set singles victories as Sacramento State swept a doubleheader over American River College on Saturday afternoon on campus.
The Hornets won both matches by 7-0 scores, and did not drop a set in the process. That included
David Dai,
Yoav Levy and
Justin Powell each going 2-0 in singles play.
The Hornets were playing at home for just the second time this season, and first since Jan. 25. Sacramento State improved to 5-4, and has three wins in its last four matches.
Today began a stretch of five straight home matches after playing six of its first seven on the road.
Besides Dai, Levy and Powell, six other Hornets won in straight sets -
Adryan Ballestero,
Nick Bowles,
Martin Duris,
Doni Gashi,
Sebastian Vlahos and
Miles Whitehead.
The Hornets also had little trouble in doubles play, winning five of the six doubles matches by 6-0 scores.
Sacramento State returns to action next Saturday (Feb. 28) when it opens Big Sky Conference play vs. Weber State. First serve at the Sacramento State Tennis Complex is 1 p.m.
