SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State redshirt freshman Chloe Cohen was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Freshman of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the first for Cohen this season.
 
In the team's win over San Jose State last Sunday at The Nest, Cohen opened the bars rotation by scoring 9.800. That mark proved to be enough for the Lakewood, Colo., to earn the outright title in the event.
 
Through two meets this season, Cohen owns a team-high average of 9.763 on bars. Her efforts have helped the Hornets begin the season 3-0 for the first time in the school's Div. I era (1992-pres.).
 
Sacramento State returns to The Nest on Friday night to host Alaska Anchorage and Cornell. The meet will begin at 7 p.m.
