Sacramento State Aquatic Center
Located on the beautiful Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif., the Sacramento State Aquatic Center is a National Boating Instruction Safety Center that offers classes, camps, facility reservations, team building, youth groups and equipment rentals, and is open to the general public, while also serving as the home course for the Hornets' women's rowing team.
The Sacramento State Aquatic Center is a cooperative operation of the Associated Students, Inc., of California State University, Sacramento, the University Union of Sac State, California Division of Boating and Waterways, and the California Department of Parks and Recreation. The center was established in 1981 and has provided instruction to thousands of students. The center offers university kinesiology classes, leisure classes for the general public, competitive teams, and a series of progressive summer camps and youth programs. The center was established to augment the academic curriculum at Sacramento State. The Aquatic Center is open to students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Sac State as well as the general public. All students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Sac State receive a discount with their Sac State identification card. The facility occupies eight acres of land and is one of the finest in the state. Features include: beach area, picnic tables, barbeques, four docks, classrooms, and convenient parking.
The Aquatic Center is a regional boating instruction safety center as part of a program funded by the California Department of Boating and Waterways. The Department of Boating and Waterways funds boating facilities, boating safety education, and supports boating law enforcement in California. A portion of the equipment at the center is provided by the department to enhance boating safety education in California.
DIRECTIONS FROM THE SACRAMENTO STATE CAMPUS
Exit campus from the South entrance on College Town Drive. Proceed approximately .5 miles to Howe Ave/Power Inn Road. Turn right onto Howe Ave/Power Inn Road proceed to the East bound on ramp of Highway 50. Take Highway 50 East to Hazel Ave. (Exit 21). Go North (left) onto Hazel Ave. Proceed approximately 1/2 a mile to Gold Country Blvd./Nimbus Rd. (the second stop light) turn right. Follow the road into the Aquatic Center parking lot.
DIRECTIONS FROM HIGHWAY 80
Heading West from Auburn or East from Sacramento or San Francisco take the Sierra College Blvd. exit (in the City of Rocklin) and turn South on Sierra College Blvd. In about 6 miles Sierra College Blvd. becomes Hazel Ave., continue South through the town of Orangevale and finally across the American River. Your first left after the river is the Aquatic Center. Turn left onto Gold Country Blvd./Nimbus Rd. Follow the road into the Aquatic Center parking lot.

Heading West from Lake Tahoe or East from Sacramento or San Francisco take the Hazel Ave. (Exit 21). Go North onto Hazel Ave. Proceed approximately .5 miles to Gold Country Blvd./Nimbus Rd. (the second stop light) turn right. Follow the road into the Aquatic Center parking lot.
