The Sacramento State men’s and women’s cross country teams wrapped up their 2019 season by competing at the NCAA West Regional hosted by Washington State on Friday. The Hornet women finished in 25th place in the 6K race and the men were 24th in the 10K competition.
The Sacramento State men’s and women’s cross country teams will close out their season at the NCAA West Regional in Pullman, Wash., on Friday, Nov. 15. The women’s 6K race will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will be followed an hour later with the start of the men’s 10K race.
Cagnei Duncan finished 12th overall in the women’s race and Elijah Changco was 35th in the men’s race to lead the Sacramento State women’s and men’s cross country teams at the Big Sky Championships on Saturday. The Hornet women finished in ninth place while the men were 10th.
The Sacramento State men’s and women’s cross country teams will have their seasons come to a pinnacle on Saturday at the Big Sky Conference Championships in Greeley, Colo. The women’s 5K race will start at 10:30 a.m. PT with the men’s 8K race beginning an hour later.
Tristen Thomson and Cagnei Duncan, once again, found themselves pacing the Sacramento State men’s and women’s cross country teams on Saturday at the SCU Bronco Invitational at Baylands Park. The Hornet men finished in 18th place while the women were 15th.
The Sacramento State men’s and women’s cross country teams will have their final race before the Big Sky Championships as they travel to the Bay Area for the SCU Bronco Invitational on Saturday at Baylands Park. The men’s team race in the 8K invitational at 8:45 a.m. and be followed by the women’s 6K at 9:30 a.m. Admission is free and there is a $6 charge to park.
The fifth-annual Capital Cross Challenge will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Haggin Oaks Golf Course. The men's 8K race will start at 9:40 a.m. while the women's 6K competition will get under way at 10:40.
Cagnei Duncan led the Sacramento State women’s cross country team and Tristen Thomson had the fastest time for the men at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday morning. The women’s team finished in 10th place overall and the men were 13th.
Following a strong start to the season two weeks ago, the Sacramento State cross country teams will head to the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 14. The women’s 6K race will start at 7:30 a.m. and will be followed by the men’s 8K race at 8:05 a.m.
Sacramento State’s Shane Marshall was named the Big Sky Conference Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week following the first week of competition during the 2019 season. The honor is the first for Marshall during his career.

The 2019 season will get underway on Friday night for the Sacramento State cross country team at the Bonanza Casino Nevada Twilight Classic. The race will take place at Miro Loma Park in Reno, Nev., and will see the men run an 8K at 7:55 p.m. and the women start their 6K race at 8:35 p.m.
