  • CROSS COUNTRY CONCLUDES SEASON AT NCAA WEST REGIONAL

    The Sacramento State cross country teams closed their season at the NCAA Div. I West Regional on Friday afternoon at Haggin Oaks Golf Course. The Hornet women were led by Amy Quinones and finished in 20th place. The men were guided by Ross Walker and finished 25th.

    Haggin Oaks Golf Course will once again feature some of the top teams in the country as it will serve as the home course for the NCAA Div. I Men’s and Women’s Cross Country West Regional on Saturday. The women’s 6K race will begin at 11 a.m. and will be followed by the men’s 10K race at noon. Admission is free but there will be a charge for parking.

    Led by Andres Sandoval and Amy Quinones, the Sacramento State’s men’s and women’s cross country teams both finished in seventh place at the Big Sky Championships on Saturday at Haggin Oaks Golf Course.

    Haggin Oaks Golf Course will serve as the site of the 2018 Big Sky Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27. The men’s 8K race will begin at 10 a.m. with the women’s 5K race getting under way at 11 a.m. All awards will be presented at noon. Admission is free but there will be a charge for parking.

    Amy Quinones and Andres Sandoval, once again, led the Sacramento State women’s and men’s cross country teams on Saturday at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational. The Hornet women finished in 11th place overall while the men were 12th.

    The Sacramento State cross country teams will have their final tune-up before hosting the Big Sky Conference Championships as the team competes at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on Saturday in Sunnyvale, Calif.
  • QUINONES FINISHES SECOND TO LEAD CROSS COUNTRY AT CAPITAL CROSS CHALLENGE

    Amy Quinones recorded her second top three finish of the young cross country season as the senior placed second at the Capital Cross Challenge on Saturday at Haggin Oaks Golf Course. Quinones had the fastest time by a collegiate athlete at the meet, running 21:18.4 over the 6K course. Her time left her just under 10 seconds behind Jenica Dodge who was the women’s overall winner while competing unattached.

    The fourth-annual Capital Cross Challenge will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Haggin Oaks Golf Course. The men's 8K race will start at 9:50 a.m. while the women's 6K competition will get under way at 10:30.

    Amy Quinones finished in fourth place in the women’s race and Tristen Thomson was 25th in the men’s race to lead the Sacramento State cross country teams at the UCR Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

    Led by a victory from Amy Quinones and five top eight finishes, the Sacramento State women’s cross country team opened its 2018 season by claiming the team title at the Fresno Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Woodward Park. The Hornet finish finished in second place and were led by newcomer Andres Sandoval

    The Sacramento State men’s and women’s cross country teams will begin their 2018 seasons on Saturday at the Fresno Cross Country Invitational. The meet, which is co-hosted by Fresno State and Fresno Pacific will take place at Woodward Park.
