BYERS CONTNUES STREAK AT DELLINGER INVITATIONAL

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Reesey Byers, once again, led the Sacramento State men's cross country team, finishing 21st overall at the Dellinger Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

The Hornets finished in seventh place in the team standings with 185 points. BYU scored 32 to top host Oregon (49) for the team titles. Southern Utah was third with 111 while Washington (114) and Gonzaga (130) completed the top five.

Byers, who has led the team in each meet this season, finished 42 seconds behind Oregon's Trevor Dunbar who was the individual champion. Nathanael Litwiller finished second on the team and 43rd overall with a time of 24:55.

The team also counted times of Domenic D'Acquisto (25:06/50th), Chris Romo (25:09/53rd) and Daniel Mitchell (25:23/63rd) toward the team score.

The Hornet men will next compete at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on Oct. 13. The Sacramento State women will run at the Nevada Chase Race on Oct. 6 in Reno.
