VOLLEYBALL’S MATCH AGAINST NORTHERN COLORADO IS CANCELED

Big Sky Conference standings

OGDEN, Utah – Sacramento State's volleyball match against Northern Colorado, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. inside the Nest, will not be played as scheduled.

Sacramento State's administration had worked diligently to secure an off-campus site that would address the air quality concerns of both teams, as well as the conference office, when it came to student-athlete welfare and the ability to play the match as scheduled.

After evaluating the situation, Northern Colorado decided to cancel its travel plans and concede the match.

The match was set to be the Hornets' Senior Day and regular season finale. Sacramento State will receive a win for the conceded match only to reflect seeding for next week's Big Sky Tournament. Per NCAA rules, the Hornets will not get a win added to their season record. With games still to be played by other Big Sky institutions tomorrow, the Hornets can finish anywhere between third and fifth place.

The Bears will receive a loss for the purpose of tournament seeding and Northern Colorado will be the No. 6 seed in the upcoming Big Sky Tournament which is scheduled to take place Nov. 22-24 in Greeley, Colo. Four quarterfinal matches will take place on Thanksgiving Day.
