Marisha Schumacher-Hodge is in her second season as an assistant coach for the Hornet women's soccer program in 2014. Schumacher-Hodge came to Sacramento State in 2013 after playing and coaching in a variety of locations around the world since completing her collegiate playing career at Boston University in 2009.

Prior to joining the Hornets, Schumacher-Hodge served as the head coach/player at Durham University in England and led her team to a second place finish at the British University National Championship last fall. She also has coaching experience as the head boy's varsity coach at Animo Venice Charter High School, as an assistant coach with the Westside Breakers U13 and U15 teams in Los Angeles, and as a coach and trainer for other club teams.

An extensive post-graduate playing career brought Shumacher-Hodge to professional teams in Iceland, Finland, and Sweden. She also played for several American teams including the Atlanta Beat of Women's Professional Soccer (WPS), the Boston Aztecs if the Women's Professional Soccer League (WPSL), and the Santa Clarita Blue Heat of the W-League.

Schumacher-Hodge was a three-time all-America East first team selection at Boston University, leading the Terriers to three conference championships and four NCAA appearances. She was named the America East Midfielder of the Year in 2006 and 2008 and was a two-time NSCAA all-Northeast Region honoree. She also shined in the classroom, earning a spot on the NSCAA/Adidas Scholar All-America third teams and the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic all-District Second Team in 2008. She totaled 13 goals and 14 assists in 86 career games as a four-year starter for the Terriers.

Schumacher-Hodge graduated with a bachelor's degree in international relations from Boston University in 2009 and completed a Master's in education from Durham University in November 2013.
