SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento State senior midfielder Camila Fonseca was named the Big Sky Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Fonseca scored goals in both of the Hornets' home matches against Northern Arizona and Southern Utah last weekend to extend the Hornets unbeaten streak to 12 matches, tied for the third longest in Big Sky history.

The Hayward, Calif., native delivered her first score of the weekend with an incredible, go-ahead goal in the 46th minute against Northern Arizona. Fonseca tipped the ball around a pair of defenders inside the six-yard box before a strike from the right post in the 1-1 draw.

Fonseca scored again in Sunday's match, scoring the team's second goal in a 3-0 shutout against Southern Utah with a shot from the middle of the box in the 61st minute.

On the weekend, she placed three of four shots on goal.

The Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week honor is the first of Fonseca's career. She is the fourth Hornet to garner weekly accolades this season, joining Tiffany Miras (Sept. 24), Kylee Kim-Bustillos (Sept. 17) and Aaliyah Fesili (Sept. 3).

The four Player of the Week selections are the most by a Hornets team since the 2007 squad had seven weekly honors.
