WOMEN'S SOCCER SET FOR TWO GAMES AT UNLV NIKE INVITATIONAL THIS WEEKEND
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento State women's soccer team will hit the road this weekend for a pair games in Las Vegas, Nev., in the UNLV Nike Invitational.
The Hornets (1-2-1) will meet the host Rebels (3-2-1) on Friday at 7 p.m. before playing Indiana State (3-2) at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Montana is also playing games at the invite, but the Hornets will not battle their Big Sky Conference foe.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Sacramento State opened its season with a win over Nevada and a scoreless draw with rival UC Davis but has lost two straight games since. The Hornets lost 4-1 at home to Cal Poly on Aug. 26 and fell 4-1 at San Francisco last weekend. In both games the score was tied, 1-1, before a quick barrage of three goals was scored by the opposing side. Keepers and have each started two games and recorded eight saves and seven saves, respectively. Tomasello, who tallied a clean sheet in the Hornets' scoreless draw with UC Davis, has a 1.80 goals against average in 200 minutes while Mata has a 2.50 GAA in 180 minutes. Combined, the Hornets have allowed nine goals and scored four times. Elece McBride notched the Hornets' lone goal at San Francisco and leads the team with two scores in 2012.
SCOUTING THE REBELS
UNLV has played six games already this season, with a 3-2-1 record. The Rebels are on a two game winning streak after beating both Oklahoma and Florida Atlantic by 2-1 scores in double overtime last weekend. They beat Big Sky Conference member Northern Arizona, 2-0, in their season opener. The Rebels have scored 10 goals while also allowing 10 through six games. Jenn Wolfe leads the team with four scores while Macy Jo Harrison has a team-high four assists. Keeper Kylie Wassell has played all 588 minutes this season with 17 saves and a 1.53 GAA.
SCOUTING THE SYCAMORES
Indiana State is 3-2 on the season and is also coming off a two game winning streak. The Sycamores defeated both Eastern Illinois (1-0) and Murray State (2-1) last weekend at home. ISU has only played one road game so far in 2012, a 3-0 loss at Butler on Aug. 24. The Sycamores have scored six goals while allowing six scores this season. Marisa Windisch and Shelby Troyer each have a team-best two goals while Alexandra Rodas has a team-high two assists.
LAST TIME AGAINST UNLV
The Hornets and Rebels have met just once since Sacramento State started its women's soccer program in 1994. In 1998 on the road, the Hornets won 2-1.
