  • MPSF CHAMPIONSHIPS UP NEXT FOR GYMNASTICS ON SATURDAY

    The Sacramento State gymnastics team will have its 2019 season draw to a close this weekend as the team competes at the 2019 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships. The meet will take place at Brougham Pavilion on the campus of Seattle Pacific on Saturday, March 23, at 6 p.m.
  • BRENT, BELKOFF, SCHMEISS AND BRAIDA NAMED ALL-MPSF

    Four Sacramento State gymnasts were named to the all-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation teams, it was announced today. The top six National Qualifying Scores among conference athletes on each event earned first team honors while those ranking seventh through 12th were placed on the second team.
  • GYMNASTICS CLOSES REGULAR SEASON AT CAL QUAD

    Led by two event scores of at least 48.575, the Sacramento State gymnastics team closed its regular season with a 192.100 to place fourth in a quad meet at Cal on Sunday. The Hornets will next turn their attention to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships which will take place on Saturday, March 23, at Seattle Pacific.

    Coming off its season best score, the Sacramento State gymnastics team will take part in its final regular season meet of the year when it heads to Berkeley, Calif., for a four-team meet against Cal, Illinois and San Jose State on Sunday, March 17.

    The Sacramento State gymnastics team recorded its best meet of the year, scoring season highs on three events and producing a total of 194.975. The team score was more than two points better than its previous high of 192.725. Host Washington, which is ranked 14th, won the meet at 196.650 while Iowa was second at 195.300.

    The Sacramento State gymnastics team wrapped up its home schedule by producing the best score for the team at The Nest this year. The Hornets scored 192.625 but finished third behind 14th-ranked California (196.975) and UC Davis (195.450).

    For the final time this season, the Sacramento State gymnastics team will compete at The Nest when it welcomes Cal and UC Davis for a three-team meet on Friday, March 1, at 7 p.m. Following the competition, the Hornets will honor seniors Carly Pratt, Jackie Sampson and Lauren Schmeiss who will each be wrapping up their Sacramento State careers.

    Jackie Sampson was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Specialist of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the first for Sampson during her career and the first Specialist of the Week award for the Hornets this season.

    Jackie Sampson returned to the Sacramento State gymnastics team and finished first on bars and beam on Friday night at Seattle Pacific. However, while Sampson shined in her 2019 debut, it was three other injuries that cost the team in a 192.375-192.175 setback against the Falcons.

    The Sacramento State gymnastics team continued its stretch of season highs, scoring 192.725 in a three-team meet at San Jose State on Friday night. The Hornets’ score surpassed their high of 192.600 which came a week ago. New Hampshire finished first at 194.800 while San Jose Sate was second at 194.400.

    Jordyn Brent was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week after guiding the Sacramento State gymnastics team to a 192-600-192.500 victory over San Jose State on Feb. 8 at The Nest. Brent finished first on bars, floor and in the all-around while setting or tying career highs in all three.

    The Sacramento State gymnastics team continued to see its score rise as the Hornets set a season high with a total of 191.625 in a three-team meet at UC Davis on Sunday. The host Aggies, who entered the meet ranked 27th nationally, pulled ahead on its final routine of the meet to score 193.350. Alaska Anchorage totaled 193.125 to place second.

    The Sacramento State gymnastics teams finds itself back in Northern California for the third time in four weeks as the team will make the short trip to UC Davis for a three-team meet on Sunday, Jan. 27. The action will begin at 1 p.m. from The Pavilion (Note the time of the meet was moved up an hour from initial schedule). Along with the Aggies, the meet will also feature Alaska Anchorage.

    The Sacramento State gymnastics team scored a season high 190.150 and were led by its underclassmen on Saturday night at Hamilton Gym. Despite the score, the Hornets finished in fourth place behind eighth-ranked Denver (196.175), 22nd-ranked Central Michigan (193.250) and Texas Woman’s (190.200).

    The Sacramento State gymnastics team rallied on floor during the final rotation to finish in second place in a three-team meet against No. 21 Stanford and Seattle Pacific on Friday night at The Nest. The Hornets trailed SPU by one-tenth entering the final rotation but scored 48.625 on floor to earn the team’s first win of the year.

  • GYMNASTICS SIGNS FOUR TO NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT

    Sacramento State head gymnastics coach Randy Solorio announced the addition of four gymnasts to the Hornet program as each have signed National Letters of Intent. The four, comprised of Alyssa Resly, Bella Lahmidi, Anna LeRoy and Kelly MacLeod, will all enroll as freshmen in the fall of 2019.
