FARMINGTON, Utah — Sacramento State freshman Tess Blair was named the Big Sky Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the first for Blair who is in her first semester at Sacramento State.
Blair helped lead the Hornets to the team championship at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Kapolei, Hawaii. She finished first overall and set the school 54-hole record by one stroke with rounds of 71-70-65-207. Her third round score is ties for the lowest in school history and was comprised of 12 birdies and an eagle.
The event was the final competition of the fall for Sacramento State. The Hornets had three Big Sky Golfers of the Week during the fall with Nishtha Madan earning the award twice before Blair. The team will begin its spring season at the UCF Challenge from Feb. 2-4 in Orlando, Fla.
