WOMEN’S HOOPS HOLDING OPEN PRACTICE IN THE NEST, WEDNESDAY, OCT. 24

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – As the 2018-19 women's basketball season approaches, the team will host a special open practice for fans, friends, and family on Wednesday, Oct. 24 in the Nest.

The practice, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 3-6 p.m., will be open to the public for a special preseason preview of the new team. Sacramento State's roster includes 17 dynamic players, including nine returners and eight newcomers.

Among those returning are last season's leading scorer, Hannah Friend (17.5 ppg), last year's leading rebounder, Kennedy Nicholas (7.0 rpg), and last season's assist leader, Tiara Scott (3.4 apg). See the full roster here.

The 2018-19 women's basketball season begins with a preseason exhibition game against William Jessup in the Nest on Monday, Nov. 5.

The regular season opens on Sunday, Nov. 11 when the Hornets host the Cal Poly Mustangs in the Nest at 7:05 p.m.

Sacramento State's full 2018-19 schedule is available online and includes five non-conference home games, including one against the defending Big 10 champion Ohio State Buckeyes and the Causeway rivalry game against UC Davis.
