SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento State women's basketball student-athlete Alle Moreno was named Big Sky Conference Co-Player of the Week for the games played the week of March 3-9, the league announced on Monday.
Moreno shared the award with Eastern Washington's Lexie Nelson.
This is Moreno's first player of the week honor this year. It's the fifth award for the Hornets this season with Se'nyce Parrish and Kylie Kuhns also winning in addition to two wins for Fantasia Hilliard.
Moreno, a junior from Lodi, Calif., averaged a team-high 18 points per game as the Hornets swept a weekend against the Montana schools for the first time in program history.
Moreno shot 40 percent from the field (12-of-30) and 42.1 percent on 3-pointers (8-of-19) as she averaged 18 points, five rebounds, three assists and 1.5 steals in the two games. She also went 4-of-5 at the free throw line and played a team-high 65 minutes games.
Sacramento State heads to the Big Sky Tournament next week, where it will meet Idaho State in the first round at 7 p.m. PT on Wednesday.
